I wish I lived in the world you created where the FIVB is paying Italy to naturalize Keita hahaha
I wish that Italy simply said yes to Keita and FIVB bit they are bitching because "GNE GNE GNE HE IS NOT REAL ITALIAN GNE GNE GNE"
If Italy doesn't naturalize Keita I will stop supporting them and when Turkey will win everything thanks to Keita i will harass every single member of FIPAV to death

Turkey has contacted Keita and offered him Turkish citizenship.
Now, some context: according to the new rules, a player who wants to change national teams must: live in his new country for three years, then apply to the FIVB to play for his new national team. After the FIVB says yes, the player must wait another two years before starting to play for the national team.
Total waiting time: 5 years
Keita is one of the best players in the world, one of the most spectacular players in the media. The FIVB would like him to play for the 2028 Olympics, so the FIVB would like Italy to naturalize Keita. Keita has already lived in Italy for three years, so Keita could start playing for Italy in time for the 2028 Olympics.
The FIVB is putting a lot of pressure (some might say threatening) on Italy to naturalize him and include him in the starting lineup to see this incredible superstar at the 2028 Olympics. The FIVB calls the management and De Giorgi every day. To naturalize Keita, the FIVB is also willing to pay the Italian federation to make Keita a starter once he's naturalized.
Many Italian officials and players, however, oppose this, saying, "He doesn't love Italy(I think they actually mean "he's not the right skin color" because I don't remember those tears over Antropova or Zaytsev or Enescu.)
Turkey (and rightly so, anyone with more brains than the racist Italian management understands this) doesn't have these concerns and offers Keita a contract worth €13 million a year (including salaries, sponsorships, and bonuses) to move to the Turkish league and wait five years to play for Turkey.
Keita would miss the 2028 Olympics and the 2030 World Cup, which is why Turkey's monetary offer is so high: it's a reward for choosing Turkey, even at the cost of missing out on important competitions.
The only certain thing is that Keita will NOT become french

Regarding the Keita situation (the article is behind a paywall, but here’s the relevant excerpt):
https://www.repubblica.it/spor…gonu_antropova-425280715/Is it true that you are working on registering Noumory Keita, the very talented Malian outside hitter from Verona?
Manfredi: The Malian federation has given the green light. We are currently waiting for the documents needed to verify whether he has already played official matches with their national team, and this is what is delaying the registration process. International rules have changed, but he has been playing in our league for three years and will become Italian.
Will he be ready in time for the European Championship?
Manfredi: No, but we hope he will be available for next year’s World Championship.

The only scenario in which Keita doesn't get eligible to play for Italy NT is if his appearances in the friendly games unsanctioned by the FIVB in Mali NT will be treated as official performances. I guess the chances are slim to none for that to be the case, so IMHO he'll play for Italy on 95%.

And Keita also confirmed that he's waiting for a citizenship - and that he never played for the Mali NT.
Ultimately, at the end of these naturalizations - rich get richer, it never works in favor of the lesser federations.

Indeed... I just hope all the fuss was worthy.

What's happening with Gargiulo?
He played the First weekend of VNL and then left the team for personal reasons...
Does anybody know what's going on?

I thought that De Giorgi didn't invite him for the finals and probably he will not call him for the ECH either. Mati, Sanguinetti, Russo and Galassi are definetely ahead for different reasons.

Me too and he was a completely deifferent attacker compare to Lube with Gianelli as setter, but it's a difficult case for him. He has to compete with the two experienced MB's that won thing with the main team and the best two MB's in the club season one of which (Mati) seems to be a huge project for the Italian volleyball.

It has to be something really bad if personal reasons forced him to miss the rest of NT season, so I understand if everyone is keeping it low.

Bovolenta out for the Euros. Crazy when he's been the best Italian OPP this season.

Choosing Rychliski over Bovolenta is just INSANE. I will never understand how a player this unbearably mediocre, who is already in his 30s and isn’t even Italian, can receive so much preferential treatment. It’s the complete opposite of the approach this coach took in the past, when he cut Zaytsev from the team and chose to invest in younger players. Wasting Bovolenta’s talent like this is criminal. He has far more potential than any other Italian OPP.

So the federation post an statement from De Giorgi,
"As Coach of the Men's National Team, it's my duty to reiterate that no technical decisions have been made to date for the European Championships. Out of respect for all the athletes currently training in training camps and the staff who have been monitoring the entire group's progress for months, it's important to clarify that, as of today, all the athletes currently training have the same chance of participating in the continental event. "
I think he is referring to the decision to cut Bovolenta right ?

So does this statement mean no players are cut yet from Euro’s roster? 🤔

Maurizio Colantoni reported back in March that his agency has already advised him to go to therapy but he has refused to do so. I don't know how that's going now. It seems to be seriously affecting his mental health.

I had a feeling something very wrong was going on and I understand why they all kept it low, depression is such a terrible beast to fight against. All the best to him.
