  • Netherlands:

S: Merel van Dijk, Esmee Radstake

    OPP: Laurine Geerdes

OH: Yasmine Raatjes, Roos Grooters, Saar Meijer, Tara van der Sluis, Bloem van Lier, Suze Zijlstra
MB: Nina Evers, Susan Dambrink, Lette Wiegerinck
L: Kyara de Maar, Myrthe Schimmel

From what I've seen earlier this year our main power lies within block/MBs and Grooters as main scorer. Nice to see they will start vs. Serbia after ending the qualification tournament in a 3-2 win vs. them :box: let's see if (and hope that) both teams have developed from that match!

We didn’t  we have better coach and some new players but that’s about it, from Balkan champs result this generation is still nowhere near 03/04 and 05/06 level

  • Hahaha should be a fun match though! On the NL team a few girls have made a transfer to Dutch A-league teams for next season (and obviously Susan has that winner-DNA from her sister:super:), but I haven't seen them play since the last tournament to know what to expect. Would be nice if they can win some matches!

Watched the third set of Bulgaria (nice MB attacks) vs. Germany (Leana and the other OH were powerful in attack/jump service) but Germany lost 0-3 mostly due to a whopping 36 errors in 3 sets :white: (G-B = 12-9; 10-10; 14-7)

Meant is Leana Grozer, daughter of famous George Grozer, biggest hope of her generation in Germany. She is already in roster of Schwerin, first League, vice champions in 2024 and record champion team (12 times). Even more successful was the other big talent, OH, Leilani Slacanin, also to watch in German team, and even younger (15).

Yeah I recognized captain Grozer (and I'm a fan of her ) but didn't know Slacanin yet. She seemed super tall already at only 15?! Wow! Their passing struggled but offensively those two did great imo. Hopefully they can give Germany a win this week! (Okay tbh I hope every team will win at least 1 match or make it to tiebreak to keep morals high in this age group)

Leilani will be with Stuttgart federal base camp and second team in Second League South next season (special federation license for youth team), it's not yet clear, if she will play beach or in the hall in future - in her age class she won the German beach championship...
