Japan - SV.League Women 2024-2025

  • My predictions for top 3

    • JT
    • Saitama
    • Hitachi

I'm putting NEC in 5 I guess because I don't like their coach and now that they're Kogaless and Kojimaless things could play out very differently. Koga domination is over.

I'm secretly hoping PFU surprises. I'm not expecting any surprises however from Saga and Toray. Not a fan of Samedy

  • I feel like Himeji would be among the top.

Inoue - Chatchuon - Ana Luiza in the pins

Airi - Osmajic in the middle

    Shibata as setter

Weak point is libero but there are decent liberos coming in mid season from graduating players that they can get.

  • Niida would get zero court time now unless kurogo moves OH bc their coach likes KuroGOAT so much

Also now that old PFU coach is gone I hope the curse ends this season. Blud basically had an all star lineup the past years and wasted it

  • First week is a little hairy

    • Sat - Day games
    • Sun - Day games
    • Mon - day games and a night game
    • Tues - Night game
    • Fri - Night game

Then it settles into normal Sat/Sun Day games, which are back to back schedules where teams play each other twice over the weekend. I can't remember if I liked that or not, or who may or may not have been advantaged by it

I do remember all of Okayama/Saitama matches were played on Okayama's home court, for what that's worth

One strange thing I mentioned before is that only half the teams play Aranmare Yamagata four times. The others play them twice. So that's two guaranteed wins half the teams won't get in this tournament based on wins

  • I'm not writing Shiga completely off. Probably not SFs but not a complete tank. They did lose to Himeji's Farm Team  and Tezukayama University in that NSF Block Round business. This was their starting lineup:

    • S - Kawazoe
    • OP - Fukazawa
    • MB - Kashimura & Yabe(?)
    • OH - Yajima & Nakajima(?)
    • L - Matsuoka

Not sure who the 2nd MB or OH are. It was one of those half team, half Prefecture selection deals. Shameful, nonetheless

Their lineup this season will be:

    • S - Tashiro
    • OP - Nwakalor
    • MB - Lohuis & Aoyagi
    • OH - Fukazawa, Furukawa, Yajima, Okawa, Koyama, (Nojima)
    • L - Matsuoka, Nakashima

If one of those OHs can bring some game it's a strong lineup. I don't get Okawa but she might get the start because she seems to want it more. Fukazawa has ditched the mullet so that's good. Furukawa and Koyama are the "tall" ones but you know what they say about tall Japanese players. Probably at the end of the rotation

Tashiro? Tashiro as in NT Tashiro? when did she come back I thought she was getting married in France or somewhere

She was part of that big haul middle of summer

  • I don't know how tf I'll watch since their new streaming site JSHIT is so hard to comprehend so I'm going to wait for Julian Chow when he has the time

    My guess is

Saga will end up at the bottom cuz Sakai has no clue how to handle inoue babyhead nakajima and disgraced nt libero nishimura. I highly doubt Araki will be able to do much but as long as she doesn't get injured it's all good. They can continue to burn until they find a new coach lol

  • My friends and I have booked our tickets! I hate the venue god and Miyu probably won't play but it's done we're going. I need to get my jersey signed

Saga is going to the Philippines for a friendly match with Alas Pilipinas sorry if this was posted already
