Himeji throwing Kawamata into the mix. The Future

Japan - SV.League Women 2024-2025

Himeji lost but that was pretty cool watching the squirts play. And Minja Osmajić looks happy now. that makes me happy
Miku took 56 swings in three sets. Yikes. I thought she looked better than her stats so I won't post them. They don't support my narrativeI will post that Kawamata went 2/3 in her dub sub debut
I was going to post that Haruna Yamashita comes into the game with Wada confidence. She was good for a couple sets and then coach inexplicably took her out ... so they gave her the sack of potatoes -

I will post it because I don't think it's that bad given the circumstances
This being her debut as a starter, and the block is in her way because she's the biggest threat there (she played with bench players), it's a decent stat. If Inoue, Chatchuon or even Airi is there, the defense of the opponent would not be focused on her that much.
21 points with 35.7% attacking isn't bad imo for a starter debut (Inoue is averaging 38.8% this season), considering their 3 top scorers did not play with her (Inoue, Chatchuon, Airi)
It was fun seeing Kawamata too!
Himeji will have a good depth in the games to come.

I didn't get to watch the first half of the match. Why did they pull Nagaoka? Her stats are decent in the 1st set.

I don't even know it's always like that even when she's performing better than Samedy. It's like they hate to see her sweat

LMAO

Akimoto with 21pts is actually better than expected considering Himeji cornered her every chance they got
-
Expectations aside, I thought she looked a lot better than those numbers. That's not a diss

Gunma gets their first win
3–0 Kariya
GUNMA went great guns today. It's nice to see them getting their first win...
eventhough they clobbered my B Aries in the V2 league last season

5869 spectators at the SAGA/NEC match. That's better

Nwakalor reaching 40 is isane she basically crushed Ageo on her own

Koshiya remains the worst coach. He killed Toray.

Nah still Kawamoto but he can be 2nd. He's also been there for so long
he's high on the list of coaches that needs to be sacked

How much money does, say, Denso‘s head coach make compared to Rosamaria

Beginning the 2026-2027 season (not the next one but the season after the next one),
(translated online, so might not be exact)
The specific implementation details are as follows.
(1) Professionalization of players (new)
・It is a prerequisite that the majority of the players belonging to 1 club are professional contract players.
※Definition of a professional player: A player who is paid for volleyball activities (competition pay, victory pay, etc.)
(2) Professionalization of clubs (new/existing requirements raised)
・It is mandatory to have a management corporation (Co., Ltd.) whose main business is volleyball.
・The essential requirement for the SVL executive committee is a director (in principle full-time) who has the right to represent the club management corporation.
・It is mandatory to disclose the financial results information of the club management corporation.
(3) Revision of the on-the-court rules (one year earlier from 2027-28)
・The number of foreign players who can participate at the same time will be changed from the current 2 to 3. ( The Asian quota is the same as 1 person)
-
So it means, instead of the current 2+1 Asian, starting the 2026-27 season, it will be 3+1.

We'll probably start seeing more interviews like this one with Momoko Niida where she talks about being depressed she can't get the playing time she wants ... and then she figures out how to be happy on the bench "knowing that even if I can't play in the games, I'll do what I can" ... whatever that means. She also says she's going to work so hard it will be difficult for Coach to choose between her and Nika and Kurogo. Uh huh
She's maybe a little grumpy and has a round head, but she's a quality player who should think about transfer hoping out of there if she wants to keep playing volleyball
My dream would be for the best 2 or 3 players from each SV team to transfer to V2, and then JVL to broadcast their matches
If I wanted to watch some Euro League I would be watching one now. But I'm not, and don't plan to
