Japan - SV.League Women 2024-2025

  • This Kurobe transformation is killing me. It's my favorite thing. Whenever a team gets a jolt of the feels, their defense gets better by ten fold. Kurobe's is only maybe four fold, but all the more impressive with a couple clodhoppers out there. When your defense goes up you start getting lucky bounces, and then your offense improves. An awesome vicious cycle to get caught up in. Hope it sticks :rose:

  • It appears these are original JSports streams that VBTV is co-opting, given the JSports banner that hides the cheerleaders between sets 2 and 3. I wonder why they do that :/ I would also guess the reverse isn't true in that the english commentary doesn't float back to JSports

I wish VBTV would co-opt more of the GAORA streams

  • I'm glad Coach took Sumida out to try someone else. This girl #6 Ayana Tanabe played MB in college but at 171 there's not a lot of mileage in that. Kurobe needs to see where things can stretch beyond the starting 6 ... Furuichi and Rimi Kaneda have potential

Sumida's numbers suck but she's better on court than others

  • Bummer losing the set in overtime on a foot net touch. I believed Stigrot when she said "nah, no way" but alas. Still crazy Kurobe is sticking so close to Osaka

  • Come on Denso. We haven't had a reverse sweep in a while :box:

  • Damn, I jinxed Kurobe in my head. I was thinking "Wow, Kurobe playing straight up side out volleyball with Osaka".

Right then Osaka got a break point at 18

  • Insane how many reverse sweeps we've had this year :box: Denso :cheesy:

  • No fair. They didn't give Kawabata a point. She clearly hit it over the net into open real estate with intention to score. But she did it bump style. Can you not get credit for a point if you hit it under-handed?

    There's live streaming today ?

no, from the match last night. I was looking at the box score and noticed she had no points. No fair

  • Position Movement Through 10-12 Matches.

Denso and Ageo can flip spots with a Ageo loss. Denso would be ahead on points if tied on wins and losses.

Gunma and Okayama only played 10.

Aranmare, Denso, PFU, Saga, Toray, Kurobe 14

  • Amika Saiki appears to be out for the season. Will have surgery next month on her lower back. I don't know of any others who have had this kind of problem but I won't be surprised if she is done with volleyball

Seems a fair number of HS players over the gold standard height of 173cm who tried to single-handedly win for their team crash, at least for a little while, when they hit V.League. Megumi Fukazawa, Manami Koyama, Rui Nonaka to a degree, Valdes to a degree,

  • INTERIM Results for the All Stars Captain and Coach fan voting.

    Captain:

    Nichika Yamada - 16.7%

    Kotona Hayashi - 11.8%

    Koyomi Iwasaki - 11.0%

    Head Coach:

    Takayuki Kaneko (NEC) - 25.5%

    Mayumi Saito (Gunma) - 12.4%

    Shingo Sakai (Saga) - 8.8%

Top 2 will be captains and head coaches at All Star Game I believe.

Well that is sad, she's only 21 and my favourite young player, eventhough I didn't have a chance to see much of her this season. I hope she can recover fully and continue playing...
