Japan - SV.League Women 2024-2025

  • QFs start around "the third week of April" ... "Tournament style of the first win of 3 races out of 2 races" :rolll:

My best guess is that on Friday the 18th they start a best of three QF knockout round?

At this point with the standings it's kind of like this:

    Osaka v Ibaraki (1st place v 8th place)

NEC (2nd) v Saitama or Himeji ... that's the crunchy one for me (could even end up being Shiga)

Denso or SAGA v Shiga or Himeji/Saitama ... however they all end up

Denso and SAGA are tied at this point. Denso has a better Set Ratio than SAGA, but SAGA plays Aranmare this weekend and Denso plays Kariya. And then they are both done. Too much math for me to give any guidance

Shiga has to play Himeji and then Osaka the following week so they could drop below Saitama and Himeji and end up playing NEC in the QFs but I don't know. It's math and I don't do math. My only math is: if you want to advance you have to win matches. Everything else is nonsense

    Here's SVL Rankings

And volleybox, which shows the Sets W-L ... I don't think Points matter but I don't know for sure

  • 2 more weekends but let's say the positions don't move it would be something like this

Really one more weekend for everybody but Shiga (that matters). Final weekend is just Okayama v Gunma and Shiga v Osaka

    Shiga could drop

  • I can't keep up with the name changes

    Which one is Ibaraki

    hitachi

  • Additionally, for those planning shopping trips etc., the QFs will be played Friday through Tuesday (18th-22nd)

and the SFs the following Friday (25th) through Monday (28th) best of 3

Then the Final May 2–4 Friday-Sunday Best of 3

    Pretty sure

  • I see them going out already when they update via story. Just in time for sakura season

  • All the foreign players meeting up in Tokyo vs all the Japanese girls going to amusement parks lol. Little did they know those in Tokyo will have their wallets drained

  • What's more ... the way they are doing this QF thing is that the teams ranked 1–4 get Home Court. That means they must have had to schedule both, say, some arena for Denso and one for Shiga, not knowing for sure who would be Top 4.

Osaka and NEC were there but everything else, at the time they were scheduling was up in the air except for Astemo Rivale Ibaraki

I don't understand the home game thing why not just hold everything in one venue

  • I don't understand the home game thing why not just hold everything in one venue

I imagine it is to start building some home town enthusiasm?

  • I just know Saga wants to host every single big tournament but PFU is going to outbid them

Fascinating to me where all this money is coming from. PFU got a new arena, and had to hire someone skilled at pulling in money from sponsors, I guess. Nobody's making more money on ticket sales. Where else could the money come from?

  • Blue Cats arena can only accomodate 3K people

is that right? I thought the new thing was to require 5k? (in a few years). They aren't going to build another one
