I hadn't thought about no Bronze match and this possibility until I just watched the PVL Finals that did best of 3

the two teams battling for third were 1–1 (3–2, 1–3 ... that's important)

the two finalists were playing their second match

If the Finalist that won the first match won the second match, for a sweep ....

Then the team that won the Third place match 3–1 would have been declared Bronze winner and wouldn't play a tie-break match

Because they would not play another match after the Championship had been won. Turns out the Final went for a third match, and so then did the Bronze ----- which ended up being won by the team that would have lost if they declared it after two matches

I think I get the Japanese site translated by my translator. I don't think I get, or go to, an "English" SVL site but it's too complicated to know for sure
