2025 FIVB Women's World Championship

  • I think people initially meant 27 isn't for up and coming players, Idk where the almost 30 came from :D I def haven't ever heard such a comparison but yea, Serdar is being a bit hypocritical here too he usually says setters tend to be late bloomers :rolll: oop

But 27 is close to 30 though

Of course if you're 24-25 nobody says you're almost 30 but 3 more years is basically ALMOST 30

  • She told me she saw Elena Baic in her dreams being a starter for Serbia next summer

Sad part she still dont even have a club.

There is much talk about volelyball camps just for setters in serbia, but seems in a few years we all will need to make global setters camps around the world.

  • but Serbia as a team, this year was bad.
I know that not everyone can agree with me, but it's my opinion.

May God help them, whoever thinks Serbia was good this year. Yeah "with Boskovic" and broader "future" agendas are okay but irrelevant when it comes to evaluation of our performance this year. It was at least bad, it's really simple.

I hope for better Poland in QF, because if they will play like this against Italy, yikes. I'm on vacation next week (yeah i was planining that taking WCH into consideration 🫣), Serbia is out (🤷🏼‍♂️), but now i really hope for some good QFs and Italy-Poland was high on the list, now....Let's not ruin my vacation.

So you are the one jinxed us

  • No, if either of the two liberos get injured or is declared as "unable to play" by the coach they can still appoint another player as new libero.

thanks. Lots of Dutch fans have been saying on fb we’re totally screwed with having a mb in libero jersey in case Reesink gets injured. Good to know that’s not the case and the coach can appoint another player to replace the injured libero.

  • Are you remember 1/4 World Champ 2022: Serbia- Poland? In that time, Serbia played badly at the end of 1 and 4 set and could have lost all matches and drop out in 1/4. That was your toughest match in that competition. I'm a little worried that Italy won't have such a difficult quarterfinal match against Poland. Poland also played very poorly in 2022 in group stage (i that time were the 2 grupo phase). The only difference is that that match was in Poland and when Serbia started to struggle in the fourth set the fans joined to the game and support Poland. This time the game lucky for us will be neutral. What do you think?

  • For me, the match against Poland will be the most difficult in the all of our tournament: if we win, we will definitely go for gold, just like Serbia in 2022 (you can write that). If we beat Poland, I think we'll win gold. Besides, at the Olympics in Paris our toughest match was against Serbia in the quarterfinals (it was 3-0, but the first set was very tough and we were behind for a long time). Then it was easier against Turkey and the USA.

  • U-21 World Champ. in 2021: Italy- Serbia 3-0:

1 hour 44 minutes: Stella Nervini, delirious of happy, was just under 18 at the time (she was born in 2003). Next to her is the slightly older Loveth Omoryui, but that's another story. In 2023, Nervini won another medal at this event: silver – as a starting player and selected as one of the two best OH players at the tournament. I don't understand why we don't focus on our young stars, but instead admire some Uzelacs or other Turkish players (whom Serdar constantly writes about they), who were much worse juniors than our Nervini? We have nothing to be ashamed of and we don't need to have complexes. We just need to bet on our young stars, like Velasco doing. For me, if Santarelli were a visionary and not just a good coach, he could have brought Nervini to Congeliano instead of Gabi in 2024. I know it's a big risk, but who doesn't take risks doesn't drink champagne. Especially since it would also benefit the Italian National Team. I hope Nervini is the next Piccinini, or maybe she should simply be Stella Nervini? The best Italian OH in the coming years?
