2025 FIVB Women's World Championship

  • True. The coach knows which competition to prioritize. I bet Brazil would trade all their countless Grand Prix titles for that 1 gold at the World Champs. The Cuban team at that time has 6 Vargas-like players playing at the same time. The power is just insane.

Yeah, they almost defeated China in Athens in the semifinal and that was without Aguero, Francia escaping from Cuba, generation of Regla, Mireya, Costa, Izqueredo already retired, and Carvajal still being a star in Europe as a 36yo. In 2008, they still could've played with Francia-Aguero duo if not for the politics.

    Once in a lifetime generation.

For a two-year span, I think Italy is the best team we've seen since, at least stats-wise.

Re: awards - someone should've invented 'best joker' award just for Antropova to receive some individual accolades, because her impact is immense and she has no chance to receive any as a bench player. She went 13/27 in the VNL final with 18 points and 14 points with 12/24 in attack this time, not to mention 28 pts from the bench yesterday.

She really may be the best bench player that we've seen as far as her actual impact on the results goes, obviously, we had legendary players being on the bench at some point, but her contributing almost every game is something via double-sub/individual sub that I don't recall from the past.

  • Aside from Cuba, I think Brazil in 2008? From WGP 2008 winning it (13 wins) and winning the OG (8 wins), 2009 WGP (14 wins) and 2009 South American Championship

Also at OG 2008, Brazil never lost a set up until the Final Match when they won against USA 3X1

Brazil didn't benefit from Russia being banned (otherwise Brazil would've likely won in 2006 and 2010), so the comparision with the past is kinda flawed.

Brazil was surely a fabulous team back then 🤩

  • Orro is just so

What is FIVB thinking when giving her all these awards I mean seriously

And even worse is that people are now eating it. I doubt if players are once again asked next year who they think the best players are I can guarantee none of them even her teammates will mention her

Can we just do our own award show with these kind of fun categories

    - Best Bench player

    - Breakthrough player

    - Best Helena and Best Sarah

    - Best U21 player

    - Best O35 player

    - Best dancing bench :dance4:

  • Breakthrough Kudies. Best opp Wada :dance4:

Best Sarah is Straube for me sorry to the others especially Fahr

  • Orro is just so

Omoruyi has already said that Orro is the best in the world but the most annoying thing is that Orro probably believes it as well.

Before some months when Orro had been asked to choose the best players for each skill she choosed herself as the ideal option for the ''skill'' of mental strengh :rolll::rolll:.

  • You just want to highlight Japan’s choreography :cheesy:

Haha, I know that there are more teams with fun celebrations. It's always nice to see when a bench is cheering having fun and not be sour they are on the bench (I don't think that happened a lot tbh, but maybe more like 'disappointed in their own performance if they get subbed off')

  • Aydin is finally playing like someone that belongs to this level.

I am so glad that, you finally noticed and so nice to hear that. However, some il-will people still trying to stir shit.

She was the most consistent player in everywhere of the court at Türkiye's side, who was not subbed and she was on the court from the 1st minute till the last. She swept almost all attacks (digs) at the back and the front, she received at a very decent level, enabling the team to plan strong attacks, scored 2 block points with 3 block touches and an ace. She was not so bad at attack (7 points 32% Kill and 23% Efficiency) and 2 attack errors happened in the tie break, which one of them was due to a very bad pass, had to attack through rolling ball (OOS) and blocked only one time. In addition, she made 12 digs which is the highest after Gizem with 52.38% efficiency, which is higher than Gizem Örge's 27.59%. What else she should do, to be considered as good in a Wch final? Does it mean that she is at her top level? Definitely not. She has room to improve. She came back from the surgery, missing VNL and joined to Wch gradually.

Some people ignore good things intententionally and focus on one or two mistakes she makes, which is sick mentality. Anyway, she put the Wch Silver medal on her neck, so the trolls who are trying to lynch her, can keep crying. She will continue her career with to Sylla, side by side and the persons who are trolling will cry more.

  • Who do you guys think is the best player at each position throughout this competition? Setter, OH, Opp, Libero, MB?

Setter was definetely Cansu and I have no doubt about it. MB should be Julia and Eda while OH should be Sylla and Gabi, while Cazaute needs credits. . The the best OPP should go to Vargas as happened but I could also choose Paola because even in her worst shape she was the go to player of the most important and stressful moments. You need tones of mental strenth to rise up from scoring only 3/22 in two sets and ended up having 22.

The best libero was the best of the best hence Moki and the MVP was Sylla because she was just amazing.

But , we all know that the best player this competition was this absolutely crazy wonder woman of volleyball hence Gabi. There are no words about how she played these last two matches.

  • Anyone knows where one can watch the replay of the final match?

Agreed with every single one of these.

Gabi is just out of this world.

side note: I just realized the 3 best OHs in women's volleyball all wear #10 😂
