My friend if you tell me where and when I said the A1 isn't good (or low level) i appreciate that . when I'm one of the few who says multiple times that we're the best league in the world RN and as prize I have always to argue with turkish friends for that . So when I Say that A1 isnt good? Without the precise context your statement means nothing
Regarding the " useless players" i think u're reffering to the national team call-ups topic, so let me explain cause Im captain obvious precisely because very often it is the obvious that escapes and needs to be pointed out : for Italy except the starting six + Antropova( so 7 palyer Orro Egonu Danesi Fahr Sylla Moki + Kate), the facts have prove that doesn't change anything if we replace for example Degradi with Nervini or Giovannini or Piva eccecc E.g the mini break in TB vs Turkiye ( before the final 4 blocks ) theres Fersino on the pitch .Fersino - Giovannini. Period.
I dont follow the discussions that have been going on in Italy for at least 5 years about OH in the national team. I Simply tell you that if you have Kate + Paola as OPP , Moki as Libero Fahr as MB eccecc ( the 7 player mentioned above ) and the only position where u donthave a elite player is position 4 for three rotation, you can play with any A1's OH in position 4 and it won't change anything cause were still the best team in the world even with Nervini in 4. That's not where the difference between us and the others lies (captain obvious). So if you want to attack me , bring the entire context on the table instead of spouting off-the-cuff phrases without context

I think this is the new record: Victoria Martini, 15 years old and 1.82m (according to the FIVB) just scored 12 ACES IN ONE SET, against Colombia in the South American under-17.

I didn't know that Danesi was attacked by Turkish fans. I could say that her statements about Vargas and Ebrar were ... bold

I've read a lot of fuss about Danesi's book and I do believe the translation really missed the sense of what Anna was trying to share. Some words in Italian have a meaning that can be lost or misread when translated, so I underlined and bolded them.
Here's the snippet of the part where she described her perspective of the pool stage game:
To sum it up:
1) she talked about having a bone to pick against a very strong, tough and well-coached Turkish team;
2) she went through the challenges one has to face when playing against Vargas and Karakurt, both regarded as very strong, physical and able to make everybody feel their presence on court, with gestures that aim to intimidate the opponent. Their haircuts and tattoos contribute significantly to the overall aura and she feels like one has to take the courage up to face the challenge;
3) she expressed the challenge of playing in front of a Turkish crowd, even in a neutral venue. The fans are able to make some big noise and this gives even more energy to an already pumped up team, so the challenge was to not be bothered by that competitiveness and these eyes of the tiger and respond to this simply playing the game;
4) she felt like the more Italy played smoothly, the less Turkish player were able to maintain these eyes of the tiger, looking more and more like kittens.
And here's the snippet describing the semifinal:
To sum it up:
1) she hasn't rewatched the match yet, but she remembered a lot of Fahr's block on Vargas and her block on Güneş;
2) she remembered Karakurt having an unusual head-down look, almost like a lamb, a striking difference from other mathces, considering she's always pumped up like a dragon ready to breath fire;
3) she admitted she doesn't find the Turkish team very likeable and felt like it was a double pleasure to beat them twice in the same tournament.
I understand that some might not like some of this takes, but accusing her of being evil, worse, or racist (like most of this X accounts wrote) is out of place. They better shitstorm idiots like Salvini, Vannacci or Pillon instead of Danesi.

I saw that first from elitedovolei's IG and since majority of the ones I follow on twitter are Brazilians and Asians I didn't really see anyone attack Danesi. Not that she said anything new or wrong tbh, people here have said far worse. But of course you can't say anything against Turkish players they're far too perfect for this earth

Also FIVB allowed Karakurt to play even if she has physically and emotionally abused her exes both on social media and in person while championing a violence against women campaign for years that alone should be a reflection of how low the bar is for Turkey.
Let's also not forget the amount of Turkish fans that taunted Mayu Wada and the rest of the Japanese team when they beat them to get back at their supporters for supporting them that JVA had to make an announcement regarding harassing players
make it make sense -
Well I did post it not because I thought that Danesi said anything wrong but because it is too bold when she knows that she will be attacked for what she said. Fro my perspective she did not insult anyone and everything she said was true.

I strongly believe that Danesi words were heavily misunderstood and lost in translation. Whoever speaks Italian notices that her words could be controversial, but they were not racist or discriminatory at any moment.
It reminds me the big fuss caused by Santarelli’s word during a TO against Brazil, when he said the famous “They do not have quality”, but it was more than obvious for anyone with two drops of common sense that he clearly intended that Brazilian team did not have quality in that passage of the match, he meant in that rotation or when someone Brazil doesn’t have good reception. Even though he could also be labelled as provocative (and I do agree), he never disrespected at all Brazilian team or their history at the sport.
But people choose what to believe and most of social networks in Brazilian despise Santarelli cuz of this. -

Ebrar and Brovkina just posted a video few days ago. Not saying Ebrar is innocent or anything but we may not know everything that happened
You can check out Brovkina’s IG for the video

But people choose what to believe and most of social networks in Brazilian despise Santarelli cuz of this.Most of the things you have mentioned here is correct. On the other hand, Danesi must be clever enough, to think where her words are going to...OK She wrote a book and shared her experiences with some trading strategies in order to take attention but she should know that, scratching the same point can cause some scars and continuously talking about Turkish NT and the players with some sarcastic wordings in her book can obviously takes reaction. We are in 2025 and going 2 years back, they were defeated from all arenas and she was also there. What if Türkiye defeats them in 2026? Will she modify her book?
Orro and Sylla came to Türkiye with very warm welcoming. If the people who show reaction to Danesi are racists, why the same people warmly welcoming these mentioned players (Sylla and Orro)? It is a very dangerous stage and everyone should be careful with their speeches, what they write or say, which may cause all sides to consider others as racist.

I don't think it is lost in translation situation. Based on your translation she still sounds quite provocative and discriminating. She is calling players intimidating because of their tattoos and haircuts, which is obviously discriminating.
She knew she will get such a bad backlash when she wrote such provocative claims about players (looking like kittens?? Looking like a lamb??).
Reaction she gets is very well deserved and expected👏👏
