2025 Men's Volleyball World Championship

  • To be fair, fornal also didn't play so in theory it should cancel out but when a team plays against absolute number one, it is already scary and if our best player is injured then of course they start the game mentally defeated. I would love to see them playing against Czech, Iran, Tunus, Belgium or even USA but injury and unlucky draw killed our chances for semis.

I'm still quite happy with quarters, this was the first time we managed to play at this level, they were very close to reach quarter finals in 2022 with the 3-2 game against USA, I'm happy that it finally happened.

Now the team can aim for semis in ech next year hopefully will avoid Poland this time 😂🤞

I generally agree but I do not think Fornal is such a big loss. He usually performs purely with the NT and therefore having Semeniuk in the opposite site was even worst.

  • Anyone got link for Cze vs IRA?

  • If Czechia can compete from the start of the sets from now on, they'll have a good shot at taking this to a tiebreaker! Fun first set, I enjoy watching Klimes - still so young but smart with his attacks and already giving the energy of someone who's been in the team for years :box:

  • I still think 2014's Iran NT was better than this year's though this year Iran may be Top 4.

    EDIT: not be

My favourite roster of Chinese (in 2022)
    male NT:
    S - Yu Yao-chen, Chen Lei-yang
OP - Jiang Chuan, Dai Qing-yao
    OH - Zhang Jing-yin, Yu Yuan-tai, Liu Li-bin, Fu Hou-wen
    MB - Zhang Zhe-jia, Peng Shi-kun, Li Yong-zhen, Jiang Zhen-yang
    L - Yang Yi-ming, Yang Tian-yuan

    female NT:
    S - Yao Di, Diao Lin-yu
    OP - Gong Xiang-yu, Sun Xiao-xuan
    OH - Li Ying-ying, Wang Yi-fan, Wu Meng-jie, Zhuang Yu-shan
MB - Yuan Xin-yue, Wang Yuan-yuan, Zheng Yi-xin, Liu Yu
    L - Ni Fei-fan, Xu Jia-nan

Iran field a starting six of two players born in 2001, two in 2003, and one in 2004, with an average age of 23: if it's not the youngest at the WCH, it's close...

They've certainly had a favorable run, but the results they're achieving are beyond all expectations...

    Well that debatable

It seems that Iran’s team didn’t deserve to be among the top four at all. We were eliminated from the tournament without even a single good performance.

The match was going very well until we gifted the second set to Czechia, and after that, it was mentally hard to come back for Iran, which is the second youngest team in the competition.

I don’t think Czechia, playing at this level, will have the slightest chance in the semifinals

  • well, Iran threw the chance with captain spiking that slash out in the second set..at least the other teams in the semifinals will have medal, CZE don't have any chance to beat the other 3 teams

I do agree. All respect and congrats to CZE for their massive achieved goal after reaching SFs after I dont know how many decades.
But the level they have shown so far isnt enough for competing against Italy, Poland and USA/Bulgaria.

I could see them grabbing a medal if the other team suffer a hearbreaking loss in SFs.

It reminds me of Women's ECH '23 final four with Turkiye, Serbia, Italy and NL. Thanks to the draw we reached F4 over Poland and it looked like we didn't belong in there. But "somehow" we still won bronze because we didn't give up :dance6: I could see Czechia show that same mental strength although they would really need to reduce their errors - giving away a full set will not do against Italy/Poland, not even if those teams would play their bench

They can put up a fight against the USA or Bulgaria, and that's their only chance for a medal - Vasina-Indra duo looks amazingly so they'll have some chances in the semi, Bulgaria is very young, so they may collapse, and the USA doesn't have the strongest lineup here, their whole offense is centered around Gabi and Indra is easily a superior player. Still big underdog, but not THAT big.

  • I think that Bulgaria plays really high level volleyball. I would not like to see USA advansing in to the first 4 teams or in to the final. The are weak and boring.

From my perspective the most interesting results would have been if Italy managed to pass Poland and face Bulgaria in the final. Everything would happend in this case.

At least this time we can all agree that the two strongest teams will face each other before the final and if Poland manage to beat Italy then the gold would be secure for them.

  • Will such competition system be in WCH 2027?

We have 2027 Czechia in WCH Semi and in Olympic Games.

Werent you laughing when we say Bulgaria is a medal contender?🙄
