2025 Men's Volleyball World Championship

  • Philippines take set 1! :cheesy: The 1st set is almost the same story with the game against Egypt. Iran is undoubtedly offensively stronger than the Philippines but its the errors that made the difference.

  • Iran has had no problems against the best Asian teams for years, except Japan. I can’t even remember China, the third-best team in Asia, ever taking two sets from Iran. It’s strange that they struggled against the Philippines, who aren’t even among the top 16 teams in the Asian Championship.

It seems that in men’s volleyball, you can no longer enter a match with a sense of superiority and just wait for the opponent’s mistakes. The only way to win against any team is with powerful serves. Otherwise, it seems like all teams execute their attacking systems really well

  • Set 3: 20-14 in favor of Philippines!

  • Philippines takes Set 3. Leads by 2x1

  • I cannot at this team is doing this well. I mean they trained a bunch of foreign born Filipinos who did not get their papers done on time, with an original bid for the Women's WCH. With our main pins just off injuries lol. 2-1 against a team they haven't won against like in ever.

  • So current points:

    Iran - 3 + (1 set) = 4pts

    Philippines - 3 + (2 sets) = 5pts

I think we'll get Gold now for the SEA Games with this performance

  • Philippine even is the 10th place of 2025 AVC Men's Volleyball Nations Cup.

It almost equals that it is the 13th place in Asia before WCH 2025 ... (India didn't participate and I think India could win Philippine ...)

My favourite roster of Chinese (in 2022)
    male NT:
    S - Yu Yao-chen, Chen Lei-yang
OP - Jiang Chuan, Dai Qing-yao
    OH - Zhang Jing-yin, Yu Yuan-tai, Liu Li-bin, Fu Hou-wen
    MB - Zhang Zhe-jia, Peng Shi-kun, Li Yong-zhen, Jiang Zhen-yang
    L - Yang Yi-ming, Yang Tian-yuan

    female NT:
    S - Yao Di, Diao Lin-yu
    OP - Gong Xiang-yu, Sun Xiao-xuan
    OH - Li Ying-ying, Wang Yi-fan, Wu Meng-jie, Zhuang Yu-shan
MB - Yuan Xin-yue, Wang Yuan-yuan, Zheng Yi-xin, Liu Yu
    L - Ni Fei-fan, Xu Jia-nan

  • I'm praying China atleast wins a set against Czechia for Brazil to qualify :sos:

I'm quite surprised too. For a team who's currently ranked at 77, they're fighting really hard against teams way, way higher in the workd rankings.

Ugh. It's too bad PHI vs IRI is playing while FRA vs ARG.

    and France may be eliminated

  • Ngapeth is so out of shape… he’s very overweight and not able to play at a level to compete against OG bronze medalists. It’s clear that a healthy Ngapeth is a key ingredient to French success… Patry and Clevenot can’t do it alone. This WCH is everything I wanted after a predictable, boring women’s WCH!

  • My prediction for the finals: Poland vs Argentina. With Turkiye as dark horse

  • Philippines vs Iran will go on a tie break
