2025 Men's Volleyball World Championship

  • He wanted them to stop celebrating loud cause some of French players are bidding their farewell to NT and played their last game, at least from what I red

It was obviously an intense match and we know the French can be cocky, antagonistic and emotional. Was clear in the 5th when the referee told captains to simmer down. But the fact that Giani went in the middle of the Argentinians and told them they were celebrating too loud in a match that was decisive for 1/16 round for the winning team is absurd, immature and unsportsmanlike.

Hmm I think that this was their big issue. As I said before they undervalued Finland and that was the result. I am not sure if it is Gianni or they are just too hard to be controlled but the 2 times Olympics champions get swept both times in the next major tournament after the Olympics with different coaches....

Eh? Isn't that how it's always been when a team wins? Specially in a dramatic one like this. You can't help but celebrate. There's a line in We are the champions that says "No time for losers." Disappointing from Giani. On the 2 occasions France won the olympics, no one asked them to tone down their celebrations.

For Argentina beating France (a country with better players, better national league, way bigger budget, etc) in what is effectively a play-off match is massive, but it's natural that he doesn't understand the other team's point of view.

I agree. He played the uno reverse on them which is honestly just rude because why would he make their celebration about France? they can still cry and all that nobody will stop them from grieving just don't rain on someone else's parade

  • I’m not saying he was doing the right thing just said what happened according to what I’ve read

You all coming from me like I was defending his actions

Just to be clear, just in case you thought I'm coming for you, I'm not. My comments are directed at Giani.

  • Ohh this crowd stayed for the China vs Czechia match

  • Why would that be argentinian players problem? That's a great moment for them and they deserve to celebrate as loud as they want

I'm loving all these surprises. Can we please get Bulgaria, belgium, turkey, Serbia semis? :obey:

Although my favorite player in women’s volleyball is Tijana Bošković, I always wish success for Turkey. So just replace Serbia with Iran 😅

  • I'm not following the tournament very closely but all these results are just crazy :white:

IMO this tournament shows even more than women's tournament how mad and flawed this formula is. Basically every match is like a final, one bad match and you can be eliminated. That's not what a World Championship should be like

  • I think its over also for Brazil.

Not just that but also the new WCH every 2 years sux. Most of top teams aren’t in great shape right after Olympics, as it was on women’s side.

Groups need to have 6 teams
