2025 Men's Volleyball World Championship

  • In this Belgian podcast 'Tweemansblock' (hosted by Sporza commentator and the Dragons team manager) it was mentioned that the team might also have some of the stomach problems that multiple NL players (and also Finnish players?) had in 1/8th round... Italy is clearly better today, but let's hope that other teams don't get affected by it later on. I want to see nice battles with healthy lineups :box:

  • Thank god Belgium improved throughout the game a bit, but today's Italy was nearly perfect:white: the service pressure was real and great distribution. Russo as top scorer with "only" 12 points says enough about the team work they showed today! :rose:

  • Italia Demolished Belgium. Besides everybody played much better than in the previous match against BEL, I honestly think Giannelli played way better, above the charts and this was the key.
Actually, besides Belgium’s context, this might be the best game of Italy in this WCH.
However, not sure if it would be enough in order to beat Poland (in case they advance).

  • It's unfortunate for Belgium them they have to face Italy twice in this tournament. No underdog luck for today. Not against this hyper-focused Italy who showed why they're world champions and just had more experience in high stakes match like this. Gianelli plays much, much better compared to the previous matches.

  • I know why we could win Belgium in the Final of VCC 2024.

My favourite roster of Chinese (in 2022)
    male NT:
    S - Yu Yao-chen, Chen Lei-yang
OP - Jiang Chuan, Dai Qing-yao
    OH - Zhang Jing-yin, Yu Yuan-tai, Liu Li-bin, Fu Hou-wen
    MB - Zhang Zhe-jia, Peng Shi-kun, Li Yong-zhen, Jiang Zhen-yang
    L - Yang Yi-ming, Yang Tian-yuan

    female NT:
    S - Yao Di, Diao Lin-yu
    OP - Gong Xiang-yu, Sun Xiao-xuan
    OH - Li Ying-ying, Wang Yi-fan, Wu Meng-jie, Zhuang Yu-shan
MB - Yuan Xin-yue, Wang Yuan-yuan, Zheng Yi-xin, Liu Yu
    L - Ni Fei-fan, Xu Jia-nan

  • Italy was exceptional: everything worked perfectly and it was a spectacle...

But I think a huge round of applause goes to Fefè and his staff...

Today we saw the difference between a team (Belgium) that had to fire all its guns in the first week and a team (us) that wanted to go all the way and needed to improve their condition to be at their best in the final days...

Well done everyone: players and staff...

    Only applause...

  • Fornal is injured and will be in libero jersey today.

thats a big loss ;(but we still have Semeniuk and Szalpuk, so I hope they will handle this:serve:

BTW. Has someone got a working link for POL-TUR game? I know that its on TV, but I`m in work right now:rolll:

  • first set high won by Poland 25:15, but I always affraid this first sets, when are won quite easy. I hope they will keep their focus for next one

  • Just tuned in, is Poland stepping up compared to pool phase (like Italy did) or is Turkiye not "showing up" like they can (like Belgium did) :sos:

I know both teams are missing an OH but Poland has (way) better alternative for him

thats true! both Semeniuk and Szalpuk are good replacement for Fornal. I even think that Semeniuk is more stable player than Fornal, but Fornal has got good mentality for this team.

  • Very strong start from Poland! They play as if Janusz is not missed!
