I've been waiting for Michieletto but it turns out, it's Bottolo! Insane serve!
2025 Men's Volleyball World Championship

Bottolo 🔥🔥

Bottolo for MVP
-
I am ready for an other MVP to Gianelli. I think this time he deserves it.
-
Italy on top of the world both Men's and Women's World Champions
-
Congrats, Italy! They completely decimated Bulgaria in the 4th set. Bottolo with his serve almost single-handedly won it. For Bulgaria, they just need a few more years and they can be the absolute best.
My dream team:
Setter: Gianelli
Opp: Romano
OHs: A. Nikolov, Bottolo
MBs: Kochanowski, Russo
Libero: Balaso
MVP: Any of Bottolo, Romano, or Gianelli (can't decide) -
So 63 years had to pass in order Men’s and Women‘s WCHs were won by the same country. Last time it was done by the URSS
-
For the first time since 1960 (then it was the USSR and it was the year of the first edition of the Women's WCH), a single nation holds both world titles, men's and women's...

real mvp might be Lavia's injury which forced Di Giorgi to finally play Bottolo as starter + gave the opportunity for Sani to join the team as service sub
(i do hope he recovers well because the incident + injury sounded horrible)

Dream team (official):
S: Giannelli
O: Romanò
OH: Michieletto & A.Nikolov
M: Kochanoswki & Grozdanov
L: Balaso
MVP: Michieletto

Che cavolo devo dire ai ragazzi se non B-R-A-V-I? We're on top of the volleyball world, unbelievable! Hats off to Bulgaria, they're young and has everything to contend for titles in the next future. The way they kept the match open kind of got me worried, because their potential is incredible. Still, the unexpected ones are the sweetest, what a turnaround we had since the knockout phase started. Block-defence correlation was spot on, serving was unbelievable and what a two-day Romanò had. His stats probably won't be great, but he's my personal MVP. His streak in the second set was unreal, but overall I've rarely seen him play so clutch in NT jersey. Nice job by Bottolo too, he basically ended the match and even when he was struggling on offence he never derailed. Last but not least, I should've been a bit kinder to De Giorgi, sometimes we didn't rise up to the occasion, but nonetheless we were among the teams that played for the podiums from 2021 on.

Τhis is bad comment. Bottolo was good today but he attacks only in system and you forgot that Lavia was much better in the last world championship.

Congrats to Italy, but I'm just glad Bulgaria managed to show their potential in set 3. Give them a few years to mature and try again

Italian school of volleyball finally bearing fruit. It's no surprise Italian coaches are wanted by teams everywehere.

My prediction according to FIVB standards ( not what I want ) is

O: Romanò
OH: Leon & A.Nikolov
M: Kochanoswki & Grozdanov
MVP: Gianelli

And he left all ot his volleyball right there in 2022 because he's been really bad with the NT ever since.

Lavia was a ghost of himself during vnl this year. He deservedly so was a starter before, but he was a ghost during VNL and also part of club season. Di Giorgi refusing to take him out with only 1 attack point in 2,5 sets comes to mind...
-
Fun fact, De Giorgi was present in every of the five wins of Italy (1990, 1994 and 1998 as a player, 2022 and 2025 as a coach).
-
Hopefully the country will forget Orro and talk about some real talents now.

I wonder where those saying #DeGiorgiOut are right now...
