How did turkey (ech gold medalist, what silver medalist), Italy(ech silver medalist, wch bronze medalist) and Poland(ech 4th) ended up in the same pool?🤦 Also group D is strong, Japan, Brazil, Thailand and Bulgaria were all quarterfinalists in U19 wch of this generation. I hope they won't match group C and D in quarterfinals😱

Poland team will be bad (again). Many players won't be available due to NCAA season which starts in August

I am not sure, even Serbia was 4th pot

I think the pots might be based on placement in the 2023 U21 WCH? Because it looks like China, Italy and Brazil were in pot 1, and those were the medalists.
But I do agree that it's boring when you have too many teams from the same confederation in the same group. These teams play each other all the time, let's see some different match ups.

I agree, there should be a confederational bias during seeding. Same story in U19 drawing, 4 European teams ended up in the same group, meanwhile China-japan in one group, and brazil-argentina in another🤦
By the way you are right, seeding use previous edition's ranking which is misleading because it is rarely the case that same country is the best with two generations in a row. I think for u21 Championships, they should use U19 world ranking as seeding

From the team that played ECH this year only Bujnarowska went to NCAA.

Spławska and Malinowska too
And the other girls who were playing NT in the past and could make the roster:
Tosia Serafinowska
Patrycja Łagida
Amelia Dombrowska
Maja Daca
Zuza Bury
Agata Zwierzyńska
almost aqual number of teams from Europe and Asia ? surprising

- Top 4 of AVC is qualified
- China is the defending Champion of U21 WCH so they have automatic slot
- Indonesia is the host
so technically AVC slots are just 4, it just so happen that both the host and the defending Champions are from AVC.
A new team, Yogya Falcons Volleyball Club is set to join the 2025 Indonesian volleyball league. The team has recruited famous Kazakh player Sabina Altynbekova, but no other players have been confirmed. However there are reports that several youth players with potentials to join the u21 squad for the u21 Wch, may be joining the club. Maybe the whole squad will join ?
This tournament will be hosted not in the capital city (Jakarta), but in Surabaya (East Java), the second largest city, located app. 700 km east to Jakarta (1.5-hour flight).

2025 Age Group Competition Format
The 24 participating teams are split into FOUR single round-robin pools of SIX TEAMS each for the first stage of the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Women's U21 World Championship.
The TOP FOUR TEAMS in the final standings of each pool advance to the EIGHTHFINALS.
The eight eighthfinal winners advance to the quarterfinals.
The eight eighthfinal losers continue their participation in the playoffs for the distribution of the places from ninth to 16th.
The bottom two teams in the final standings of each pool continue their participation in the playoffs for the distribution of the places from 17th to 24th.
All 24 teams go through another three rounds of direct up-or-down matches (quarterfinals, semifinals and final for the winners; playoffs and classification matches for the losers) to fill all the places from first to 24th in the final competition standings.

avid is USA bringing their big guns like Abigail Vander Wal, Favor Anyanwu, Abigail Mullen, Jaela Auguste and Teraya Sigler? If so how their development has been in last two years?

nope. this summer is going to be complicated.
U21 overlaps with the NCAA preseason... and most of them will not get permission to leave. If they're not playing this NCAA season, there's a chance they could compete but not likely.
It happened in 2023... Vander Wal, Mullen, etc weren't even the best U19s. They played without NCAA players.
(that's going to happen again this summer... The U19 championship overlaps with the USA youth club championships so they're only going to take players who arent playing club... which isnt a large group)
They'll probably send a U19 team of whoever is available to the U21 like they did in 2023.
I'll write for Turkish players from this Generation (2005-2006), feel free to add what you guys think about players from your NTs
The roster of U19 was as following, I don't expect much changes in the roster (starters marked in bold):
Setters: Dilay Özdemir - Beril Çoban
Opposites: Beren Yesilirmak - Selen Köse
Middles: Begüm Kaçmaz (2007) - Nisan Eroguz - Lal Verda Akın
Outsides: Eylül Durgun - Lisa Safronova - Bianka Mumcular - Şevval Acibal
Libero: İlayda Gergef
Dilay is our best player and I think she was the mvp of the tournament. She had a great season in BJK, I expect her to play in VNL (hopefully as starter) so she might actually miss this tournament. If she won't be starter in vnl, I would prefer her to play this tournament indeed.
Beren is a mediocre player, too short for an Opp and doesn't have athletic skills to compensate it. She started the season at Zerenspor but then transferred to second division team Ilbank. Even there she didn't play much
Begum was already one of the best middles of this tournament although she is from generation 2 years younger than this one. Unfortunately she didn't play much in BJK this season but whenever she get a chance she showed good performance, she has a nice connection with Dilay. Second MB Nisan is a decent but not spectacular player. 3rd MB Lal Verda is playing in NCAA so maybe avid knows how she is doing now?
Eylül was our best OH then, she can both receive and attack. Unfortunately she had a bad knee injury so I don't know her current shape is. Lisa had limited playing time in Fenerbahçe but she is improving by playing with such star names. Bianka Mumcular is playing in Volero, after playing abroad, I expect her to be improved. 4th Oh Şevval is very short she might not make it to this roster.
Our libero İlayda is a promising one.
3rd MB Lal Verda is playing in NCAA so maybe avid knows how she is doing now?
her blocking stats look good... but her attacking looks weak. 36% attack, .198 efficiency although I cant say I've ever watched her team lol
In a perfect world, USA sends this lineup
S: Bergen Reilly, Izzy Starck
Opp: Olivia Babcock (NCAA MVP), Kennedy Martin
OH: Brooklyn DeLeye, Harper Murray, Torrey Stafford, Sigler
MB: Andi Jackson, Taylor Harvey, Auguste or Anyanwu (idk the other middles well lol)
L: Laney Choboy or Ramsey Gary
in reality they'll probably send a group similar to who they sent to the U19 norceca championship, which i dont know well at all. Minus MVP Maniaia Ogbechie, Kelly Kinney, Hazel Alevok, and Aniya Warren who will be in the NCAA.
FIVB why can't you swap the dates of the U21 and U19 tournament?
We would have all the players who are in the NCAA.
