did it happen in one of the lovb games? that can't be real
it was during the finals

The league is still in its infancy so it's a locals hyping local stars scenario. It's in the league's best interest right now to focus on hometown faves.
I don't know if you saw, but there was this viral tiktok of 2 middle aged Americans googling Sheilla Castro they were sitting behind her lol. That basically sums it up
Some mom from Brazil.

it doesnt mean anything unless they can capture revenue from it, which at this point in the league's lifecycle is more important than having an a star intl player.
its the same thing for Chiaka-Asjia. Chiaka isn't bringing in viewers on TV or having people buy tickets. Asjia will. Chiaka leaving, which lets Asjia play in Austin, is better for the team and league as a whole right now.
They don't need to pay Carol when the rest of the middles in the league are already a decent level (and the American's whose dollars matter dont know Carol/Annie) unless they can figure out how to either money from like Globo or Sportv (Disney+ isnt getting much/any money for them in Brazil)..... If they can figure out how to bring that audience in (and find a revenue stream) then they should be all over it.
but this is also a league that is paying multiple players over 100k to sit on the bench... so maybe we dont share similar sentiments
I get that. I was thinking from the perspective of a volleyball fan, but the USA doesn't have an established volleyball community, so they are targetting casual sports fans.
But, at the same time, if they were looking to drive up the league's engagement, getting a Brazilian player (that is actually relevant and not Key Alves lol) would certainly do that. I would actually like to see Rosa in LOVB, she fits the American system and I think the shorter season would be good for her.

They do, but its very NCAA focused. Because that's all they've ever had access to. You can't build a fan base on something that only exists every four years on TV (the Olympics). It would've been great for USAV (or LOVB) to really drive home the connection between NCAA-LOVB-NT, but they didnt.
They tried last year for Rosa, but I assume (or well, know) Japan pays her more.

lmaooo
He should google Piero Giuseppe next
He wouldn't have to Google it after. Would've appeared as one of her pseudonyms. Plus the Gabi affair.

She's just so supportive of everyone and she did say that she wanted to watch more games live

LOVB needs Karakurt

LOVB needs Karakurt
no thank you
-
Lol I remember reading an article where apparently she said she'd like to play in America eventually 🤷🏻♂️ Skills aisde, no mannered player will wanna play w someone w an attitude like Ebrar.
-
LOVB needs Karakurt
This has to be ragebait
But if you mean Ebrar as a spectator like Sheilla that's fine nobody's gonna know her anyway. Provided she doesn't start physically assaulting random females in the audience

Defne Devrim. She was U17 setter for Turkey in Eurovolley, several years ago..
I thought she was quite good.
She fell out of favour since then I don't know why..

I love that this young generation of Turkish girls are brave to go abroad at such a young age! Bianca Mumcular, Begum Kaçmaz, and now Defne👏 I'm sure such experience abroad will help them grow a lot

I remember few years ago on Junior EuroVolley that Ten Brinke was amazing, i see that she is in Germany now but as i don't follow i'm curios how her devlopment goes VolleyOrange Let's go orange. Also curious about setter Lyklema i think the one generation above, i also was impressed with her on some youth competition a while ago.
Ten brinke had a decent first season abroad. She is rumored to join Schwerin next season. That would be a good move for her development. She is on the longlist for the Dutch NT this year. With the absence of Lohuis I expect she will have some court time! Her attack is good, but a bit slow in block IMO.
Lyklema played for Aachen last season. Didn't have the best season I believe. She is also on the longlist and with Dijkema retiring, she could have some chances when Bongaerts or van Aalen will be rested. I don't believe she will be the future setter of Dutch NT though...
