Serbian Women's NT 2025 - The Hour of The Boss

  • So basically what we read here, 190 is around 195 and they are fine, but 188 are short.

Plus main source is volleybox with his fake stats. For example Hande real height is "only" 187cm.

Terzic would without any doubts play or at least try to play with 195cm players, but they dont exist.

BTW this starting to become serious off topic, MTS need to open new topic about ideal heights per position. What is average height on top level, what is shorter than average, what taller, what is too short, what too small...

  • Let's go country by country in top10 world ranking:

    1. Italy: don't have very tall OHs, indeed never had any.
    2. Brazil: never relied on very tall outsides before Ana Cristina (even she is 'only' 192)
    3. USA: plummer is the first super tall player since Tayyiba Haneef Park, they always played shorter, balanced OHs
    4. Turkey: Ebrar is not an OH, she is a full time opp playing as oh only a few months in last two years. Other OHs are around 185-190
    5. Poland: Czyr is 191, Lukasik is 189, Medrzyk is 184
    6. China: Li and Zhu are exceptional once in a generation talents, look at other Chinese OHs they are mostly undersized compared to these two
    7. Japan: very short outsides
    8. Canada: outsides are around 185
    9. Netherlands: OHs are around 185-190
    10. Serbia: OHs are around 185-190
    11. Russia has always been relying on length of their spikers, this is their volleyball school policy basically, even they played with shorter outsides like parubets, scherban, voronkova for a while

Dominican Republic is not even top 10. So overall, 195+ OHs are indeed exception, not the norm considering top 10 NT in the world 🙃

Sorry for offtopic, my last post on this

  • Most of those players listed have worse jump and worse spike reach then Uzelac and especially Sylla. So what’s the point of height then?
Martinez and Plummer can literally get outreached by Sylla or Gabi on average due to their explosiveness. Don’t wanna compare passing and defense at all.

Hande and Pena literally can’t jump, add Busa to that same list of 190cm OHs who are useless in offence.

Counting Liza Safronova amongst physical players is just hilarious considering girl im terms of physique is just a bit taller Lazovic, can’t jump and lacks strenght.

3-4cm taller won’t change much in attack when you already have some height, shorter players tend to be more flexible and athletic so they have better jumps (Arina and Markova are clear exeptions not rules). 3-4cm shorter however gives much better body flexibility to be good defender.

Keep in mind I’m talking about players close to 190cm, to short players even a few cms in height can mean much.

Liza is 192 cm with long arms. Lazovic ise 183. a bit taller= 10 cm differences. + when you add her arms, there is really big difference. And athletism is not just about vertical jump. She move fast and can attack fast balls. She will be better in a couple of years.

Sylla can jump really welll. She can hit over 3 meters. Hande can spike from +3 meters too. Why you disrespect especially both of those? They both have enough physicality to perform at high level. And attacking is not their main strength. Both are much better defender, blocker and receiver than Uzelac. That's why they play for big teams.

Uzelac is a player who has not been injured yet, and in time also considering she use jump serves, she will start to jump less like Hande, Sylla at Pietrini. In order for her to make difference on court, she will need to be so good at other elements, not offense, because she does not have a physical superiority like Arina, LYY, Cristina and Markova.

I will answer step by step.

First of all, you said that Uzelac is quite tall, ı am not saying she is short. Why you act like this? ı am saying she is ok in terms of height and athletiscm. Uzelac can even be considered short in the future because players are getting a little taller in every generation.

"1.Italy: don't have very tall OHs, indeed never had any"

italy have enough physical quality in OH position all of their main 3 OHs can jump well; Pietrini, Sylla and Caterina.

"2.Brazil: never relied on very tall outsides before Ana Cristina (even she is 'only' 192"

She is not 192. Arina says " I am 194" and Cristina is not shorter than Arina. Even if she is shorter, Cristina can jump really well. She is much more physical than any serbian OH.

"3. USA: plummer is the first super tall player since Tayyiba Haneef Park, they always played shorter, balanced OH"

We're not talking about the past anyway, we're talking about the present and the future. The starting OH duo of USA in Paris were one of the most physical OHs of the USA, Plummer and Skinner. I think that's enough to say.

"4. Turkey: Ebrar is not an OH, she is a full time opp playing as oh only a few months in last two years. Other OHs are around 185-190"

She played OH until 17, then 2019 in Vakıfbank she was OH for a year. And from next yeat she will be full time OH. Other OHs dont play as starter much. You should have meant specifically Hande who is 190 cms. And there are really tall young Turkish OHs.

"5. Poland: Czyr is 191, Lukasik is 189, Medrzyk is 184"

Czyrna is taller than 191, she is around 193 when you look her on court Lukasik is 190 with long arms. She can jump well. Merdzyk is from an old generation. She may retire in a couple of years. Both Czyrna and Lukasik are still taller than Uzelac.

"6: China: Li and Zhu are exceptional once in a generation talents, look at other Chinese OHs they are mostly undersized compared to these two"

What about Wu mengjie, And Zhang Changing lol

I already talked about the Netherlands, both of their starting six Ohs are 189, they are taller than Uzelac.

IN SHORT, UZELAC IS NOT A QUITE TALL OH AS YOU CLAIMED, SHE IS ATHLETIC AND THAT'S WHY SHE HAS ENOUGH PHYSICALTY FOR HIGH LEVEL. MY FIRST POST WAS ABOUT BRANKİCA TICA AND MOST OF OTHER SERBIAN OHS, WHO HAS MUCH WORSE PHYSICALITY THAN UZELAC.

  • I mean we have Tisma and Rankovic on the list already, wouldn’t hurt to add 1 more who has better chances of being good in future:)

I mean, its not a problem to add her to our list, but i doubt Terzic will put her on his VNL list, she is not ready.

  • Wow just read all this lol. Wasn’t ready for the 86 paragraph discussion on why the country of like 7 million totally PEOPLE doesn’t have a plethora of 195 cm with top spike height just waiting for their shot!

Anyway Nina Cajic is a very interesting prospect to me. I’m a huge ncaa fan as I live in America and so I watch almost every relevant match in NCAA volleyball for the last like 9 years. Nina has serious potential to be good for the national team. I don’t think she has very best in the world potential or anything but she’s very smart and has a great jump and sees the block well. Her attack from 6 is fantastic! To give some context she had better stats than Madi Skinner playing in the same conference with less talent around her

I'm really excited for her as well and I hope she gets a chance in the national team. Hopefully she gets meaningful playing time in Indy Ignite because there are 5 OHs (including her) in their roster :pinch:

unfortunately for us I see a very real feature in which she’s slotted in the right there because the opposites on that team are so bad

    it's all headless nonsense lol

  • Busa got already benched in her second match of the season in Greece due to bad perfomance :sos::sos::sos:.

it doesn’t matter lol. She doesn’t care about volleyball anymore lol. That was clear when she signed just to go be with her boyfriend. She is irrelevant in future plans and yes she’s inconsistent but don’t kid yourself into thinking she’s trying her hardest on some bad team in bad league lol

She signed because there is not team in the world which would wanted to pay her 200.000 for half season.
