Serbian Women's NT 2025 - The Hour of The Boss

First the young Russian volleyball player and now Mireya gotta love the diversity in this thread

Well, best player of all time is debateable but she is truly a gift to Volleyball thats for sure
She absolutely is and it’s a pleasure for me to watch her these days. But in this adoration, humility is lost.
-
Brakocevic is "back" in NT as a Terzic staff member. She will not travel to competitions, but she will use the whole summer to learn coaching from Terzic.
-
Mirkovic is our first player that finished club season. She will take a rest until VNL camp.
-
Kurtagic, Aleksić, Uzelac, Maja, and Lazovic are all 5 in the shape of their lifetimes. (Well not prime maja but she still looks great)
I know Paris is gonna leave a bad taste in our mouths for a long time but like all those players are playing incredibly well in the Turkish and Italian league. It really should not be a Bosko ball summer. We have options and depth we haven’t had in years on paper. Maja and Terzic have to take advantage of this. On paper if the players carry their performance from club we should be a top tier favorite to win world championships again with Italy as main competition -
The big key is whether Maja can get an even distribution.
If she and Terzic play like they did in 2021, they won't win anything, since Boskovic isn't the same player she was that year and can't lead the team to medals on her own.
-
Off topic but Tijana Malesevic will be Jovo Cakovic assistant coach in Montenegro.

and I hate both of their choices lol

Just 1 more season. Osmajić is bound collect that £600k then she's free to go to Italy. If she gets into the league's AllStar next year that's an additional 100k too.

Osmajic needs to play more. I don’t understand why she doesn’t because she does really well when she plays

She had some conditioning issues awhile back.
Whenever Shibata was the setter it was always a horrid turnout especially for her

Interesting interview by Terzic! He says:
- His team doesn't have a leader player except Martinez, Russian players play like soldiers, they follow the orders from coaches, they are afraid of making mistakes. They see volleyball as more work than game
- He mentions young MB Daria Kiseleva from Kaliningrad as pleasant surprise of season
- He thinks every coach dreams of having such a player like Ebrar Karakurt with bright emotions on the team. He thinks it is just her playing style. Such players are needed, they bring more motivation and energy to the team. Almost every coach loves and appreciates such a player.
- The refereeing in Russia is at a high level although he complains some decisions that aren't Standard in between referees
- Rule enforcing coaches to wear suits is stupid according to him
- Russia has the best team in the world and politics should not be mixed with sports
- the potential of Serbian NT is not as great as it used to be, and that is the biggest problem (I'm surprised to hear this indeed, Serbia has very good young players like Uzelac and Kurtagic. I'm confused why he thinks potential is not as great as before🤔)
- In Russia, there has always been a limit of two foreigners, while in Turkey up to six foreigners can play at the same time (this information is obviously wrong, only 3 foreigners can play at the same time on court in Turkey 🤦)
- Russia has one of the best defenses in the world but setters have to work harder

that is weird about the potential things are looking very positive for the next few years for Serbia IMO. They have to develop a replacement for maja but plenty of teams have more problems and it’s not like many teams have good setters right now. Uzelac and Kurtagic are monster potential like you said

He is right, 3 per team is 6 on court at the same time, he talking about level of gameplay

yea lol he coached in the Turkish league surely he knew that rule
-
Basically I think Terzic wanted to say that young players weren’t adapted in time and that left a gap on some positions (setter, libero). In his time youngsters were training with the team all the time, now those generations were bad without any NT potential players unlike now, but in recent years since he left there wasn’t any effort to include younger players (except Uzelac and Kurtagic).
-
I also agree that the potential is limited when there is simply no setter upto the level. Drca is retiring, will Maja be there? If not, there is simply noone I can think of and this is a big problem which will effect all other players on the court.
