Poland Women’s NT 2025

    Joanna Wołosz was ranked 20th in the Poland's Athlete of the Year competition

    We are in the middle of season. Do you guys have any remarks about players? who deserve for a chance and who can loss a spot?

    At this moment I would choose:


    S: Wenerska, Kowalewska, Grabka (honorable mention to Szewczyk)

    OPP: Stysiak, Smarzek, Szczurowska, Rasińska

    MB: Korneluk, Pierzchała, Pacak, Obiała, Alagierska, Centka (honorable mention to Milewska)

    OH: Piasecka, Łukasik, Czyrniańska, Fedusio, Górecka, Damaske, Drużkowska,

    L: Szczygłowska, Łysiak, Stenzel


    I’m not convinced when it comes to Nowicka, Różański and Jurczyk, Gryka doesn’t play at all, I’m not sure if Mędrzyk and Witkowska’s help is still needed. I also hope Wołosz won't change her mind cause Wenerska or Kowalewska style could fit this team much better.

    I need to say that I agree with you volleykovic only with one change: Nowicka > Grabka. Nowicka for me is more experienced and has good character as for setter (but its my own opinion). Pity that Różański lost her shape and confident, unfortunatly I dont see her in NT this summer. For sure her place can take Piasecka, which is shining in BKS.

    For sure I would like to see in VNL Szczurowska:super: I hope she will be called after great season in Nilufer and I hope that after work with Lavarini, she eliminate number of her errors in spike, because she made a little bit to many...

    I remember that Centka said in some interview that Stefano had some plans regarding to her and asked her could she change her wedding date to play at first VNL tournament , so I have feeling that Korneluk and Centka will be staring MBs from this year. Also hope that all of these rumors about Korneluk's retirement are fake - I watched summary of 2024 in 7strefa and have to agree with Świeniewicz (and Chajzer) that Aga was the best player of 2024. She got matured and has so many experience that it would be ridiculous to give up when she is in the best shape of her. The same is with Mędrzyk (best player according to Drzyzga). I was sure that after OG Natalia is done with NT. But watching her today is a real pleasure and why we should get rid a player who give so much (?) and honestly, is not so old yet. We have a lot of young players and her experience could be priceless.


    I hope setters will be Kowalewska and Wenerska while Szewczyk will get some international experience.

    And I think Szczygłowska is a head of Stenzel and Łysiak. 2024 improved her a lot.

    I don't like Drużkowska with her artificial left hand. I'm sure Różański will be called and I won't be surprised is she will play in VNL.


    But the year will be very interesting and I see that we will have kind of battle for spots like in men's NT. Good, good, can't wait :D

    I want to finally see Pacak play more, AT LEAST to start in VNL. She has been consistently good in the past couple of seasons. I was quite surprised when both Jurczyk and Alagierska were getting way more chances than her.


    Korneluk is obviously the best Polish MB, but if the rumors about her retiring are true - I think a Centka - Pacak duo could work really well.

    I like Centka, but for me Pacak is right now a bit better. I didnt comparing stats both of them, but I like Pacak`s feeling on a net, which scoring by block. Also Obiała is back to game. In general, we have good MBs and it will be good fight between them.

    About libero position I agree that Szczygłowska is way better right now than Stenzel.

    I would like to see Szewczyk, but I dont know how Lavarini will see her role (IF) she would be called.

    I bet MBs for this season will be Korneluk, Centka, Obiała and Alagierska.

    Obiała is a completely different player with Kowalewska. I think everyone was impressed with this duo in 2020 OQT against Azerbaijan and it works today as well.

    IMO Alagierska is still a good player, Stefano prefers her and this is why I see her.

    Jurczyk was not good at OG and hope we will level up MBs this year.

    it will be heartbreaking if Pacak will not be in main roster, but I will respect all decisions if we only see results like in the last 2 years :win:

    Korneluk - Centka/ Korneluk - Obiala could work. I like them both a lot this season offensively, but unfortunately they are not the best blockers we have, their block numbers are pretty low.

    Centka need to improve in block, than she will be complete MB. I think that Stefano will continue wit Alagierska and Jurczyk next to Korneluk, but I hope that girls will fight so hard for a place in roster. I really like that we have so many good MBs and hard to choose the best duo ;)

    I think Pierzchała deserved some chances in 1-2 weeks VNL, but unfortunately plays in Chemik don’t support her. Big clubs = more chances. This is year, when nt have chance to test som players. We all know what Alagierska/Jurczyk can play - just stable, we know what Korneluk can play, so it’s time to test Centka, Pierzchała, Pacak and Obiala in Lava system.

    Honestly, I am surprised almost no one mentioned Pierzchala. She is the youngest of them all and currently the best blocker of the league. She attacks in front of a setter and as a slider. Of course she is not yet that strong, but she will be. In my opinion it’s time to invest in her. I would choose Centka as well, she’s awful blocker, but a dominant attacker and I know Marlena would use her a lot. Korneluk is always locked for me.


    When it comes to setters, Marlena is my number one because of her connection with middle-blockers. Szewczyk should get some chances during friendly tournaments

Pierzchała on the other hand is a great blocker as well as versatility in attack. For me MBs should be Korneluk, Alagierska, Pacak(who should take Jurczyk's role in NT) Pierzchała and chances for both Obiała and Centka who tend to flop in international settings

    And of course I would love to see Milewska at least in training because there's really something special in that girl

    For OH position Lukasik, Czyrnianska, Piasecka and Górecka at the moment are the best picks. If we want to build a team for LA 2028, we should continue with them. I like Medrzyk, but she’s 33 y.o and she won’t be here in 2028 and Górecka is currently better than her in our league and has better reception.


    OPPs: Stysiak, Szczurowska, Smarzek and Pinderska.


    Libero: Szczygłowska, Stenzel, Łysiak, Suska?

    Players like Pierzchała, Piasecka, Czyrniańska need to play way more in VNL than they did in last years, they are pure talents who just need a bit more of internationals experience and the VNL in which we have guaranteed place in the finales and a season where world ranking doesn’t matter much is an excellent place to do it. Basically agree with the lists mentioned earlier and even if I was never a big fan of Nowicka I must say that she plays well in BKS better than Grabka in Budowlani in my opinion. Doesn’t matter that much though because our duo should be Kowalewska/Wenerska.
