Italy Women's NT 2025

  • During the weekend of the Italian Cup Final Four, Julio Velasco, on the morning of Saturday 8 February at the Pala Jessy Owens in Calderino (Bo), will direct a training stage that will involve sixteen athletes.

All the players belong to the Serie A2 championship. These are their names:

Safà Allaoui, Sara Caruso (HR Volley Macerata), Giorgia Amoruso, Princess Omonigho Atamah, Helena Sassolini (Pall. Lecco Alberto Picco), Andrea Sophie Blasi (Volley Hermaea Olbia), Erika Esposito (Volley Fratte), Binto Diop (Akademia Sant'Anna), Sofia Ferrarini (Pallavolo Vallecamonica Sebino), Denise Meli (Millenium Brescia), Sofia Monza (Futura Volley Giovani) Matilde Munarini (Esperia Volley 1961), Astou Adji Ndoye (Altino), Alexandra Alice Tanase (Volley Melendugno), Agata Tellone (Volley Offanengo), Giulia Viscioni, (Mondovi Volley).

Many of them are not "very young" and not even real prospects for the A Team, but it is a beautiful initiatives to reward and stimulate the players of the minor series that show off and who are outside the youth national teams.

I remember Diop was doing well during the U-squad years ago with Sylvia's sister but I wasn't able to follow her afterwards. I guess she's not as good as I thought she'd be

Diop is the second best scorer of the whole A2 series and plays in Messina, a team built for the passage in the major championship ...

She is young (2002) and, for me, if in A1 play as starters Piani and Malual, she could play there too ...

She already play but is not for Serie A1 starter imo

she has a lot of ups and downs

About the calling there are another players that should be on radar as virginia adriano

  • Yes... Just like Malual and Piani...

Piani is starter in his team?? About malual she has a a lot of potential and play good from time but need more work

  • Diop needs to limit her mistakes and she would be an ok local for a lower to mid team (and yes there's been worse as starters). Messina has been kind of a mess in A2 for how much they spent tho, I would like a southern team in A1 but idk if I would trust them after this season

Also yes, there are a few questionable names on that list, and players from Trento and San Giovanni (more on this team imo) means there were some vacant spots but idk I think there were more interesting options for OH than Tanase just to name one
