So ... we got VNL and WCh this year, correct? No dates on the JVA site yet. Do you know what U-Squad tournaments are happening or other off ramp stuff? I suppose I could start it up and fill in the blanks as we go

For U-squad, we will have U17 World Championship, U18 Asian Championship and U20 Asian Championship this year.
Main tournaments — Asian Championship (winner will qualify directly to LA Olympics) and VNL
For other tournaments — Japan will host the Asian Games this year. -

It's a very normal interaction for Mayu. She's not the touchy affectionate type. Even if you see her with Yuki she's just as "awkward"

Mayu's chemistry with the setter is yet another issue this season. No mention of Herbots. I can see why her mom went off on Cambi maybe they just don't get along.

Ishikawa: Firstly, there have been significant changes to the squad, and there are still challenges in terms of my combination with the setter. Also, it's not just the wing players; many other players possess real attacking prowess. Within that group, I realise I must consistently perform at a high level myself, otherwise my time on court will be limited. In that regard, as I mentioned earlier, it's about delivering stable performances. Hmm, the overall flow is shaping up rather like last year, so within that context, I feel I need to raise the bar a bit higher for what I demand of myself.

Japanese media did not pick up on what we believe to be her "mom's comments" because it was made from a family account but it's well known that her mother doesn't speak English none of them in their family do. Regardless whoever made those comments shouldn't have done it and hopefully they don't do that again. It's crass no matter how you look at it.

I wouldn't be surprised if her mom's account got hacked since her dad's facebook account was hacked twice before already.

Both siblings hardly understand English so I can't imagine her mom knowing what gtfo means and using it in a sentence

I wouldn't read too much into this. With any setter obviously communication is key and as already mentioned so many times Mayu still has trouble speaking properly in Italian.

Being fluent is one thing sure but you don't have to be fluent to establish a good connection or adjust accordingly this should come to them instinctively. Seki has great connection with her teammates and she doesn't speak fluent English nor Italian in fact all of the videos where she talks are still in full Japanese.

Junior NT key player and High School MVP Yuzuki Baba (180cm, OH at Junior NT) will enroll at Tsukuba University instead of going straight to the SVLeague. Baba was a starting OH of Japan at U16 Asian, U18 Asian and U19 WCH.

The other Junior NT key player Rion Chuganji still has one more year of high school.

Their chemistry has improved substatianly this month especially in the latter half. While communication might be an issue, Cambi has had connection issues with all OHs this season, all of them have had offensive issues compared to previous seasons. It's not a Mayu specific issue so I doubt there's anything personal there. Berardi is a much bigger problem, as he routinely puts Mayu and Alsmeier in bad spots with his inept subbing.
