Germany NT 2025

  • Because I'm watching?

The only thing he can observe is that next summer our OHs should be Alsmeier, Grozer, Tabacuks and Slacanin. Time to give up on everybody else :aww:

Can't Slacanin be converted to opp instead I think she's got what it takes but obviously a coach has to make that suggestion for her. I don't really see Orthmann getting dropped even though she has really faded

I think she is practising both positions, in the long run it can surely be an option to convert her to OPP.

Someone needs to get Timmer and Martin out of PVF, I don't think it's a place to improve their skills. I still think Martin has more potential than Jatzko/Timmer to achieve a higher level, at least she has athleticism and can kill a ball every now and then.

  • What a disgrace for German sport. Fair play was trampled on here. I'm shocked. 😡😡

Yeah I don't like it at all either. The only "excuse" I can accept is that the international calendar is simply ridiculous. Just a week ago VNL finished, now they play ECHQ and in just 3 weeks WCH starts. In some way I can understand they didn't send the main players, but still it's problematic at least...

Certainly, it can be explained that way. But the senior team itself, or rather 10 players (if you exclude Orthmann) from the last European Championship team, are to blame for the fact that they had to qualify, unlike teams like Bulgaria, Ukraine, or Slovakia. You should also expect these players to eliminate this unnecessary evil.

It certainly wouldn't have been necessary to send all the players. As mentioned, the Universiade team could have been strengthened in specific areas, especially if the Universiade team itself was weakened. As mentioned in a previous post, I could have easily imagined Hanna Orthmann and Monique Strubbe. But in my opinion, Lena Kindermann would have also made sense, or Annie Cesar (even if not in the 24-man squad), because then they would have been able to test and compare her and Patricia Nestler in a duel.

  • I agree.

But this is not fair for the competition and specially for Swiss NT and all the other competitors for the 2nd place for the Qualifications…

Just a little clarification, because it seems as if Switzerland was the big loser of yesterday's match. That's not true. Switzerland's starting position for qualifying for the European Championship hasn't changed as a result of yesterday's result. As before, they need at least one win and four points.

Nevertheless, the DVV's behavior towards Switzerland in yesterday's match was also disgraceful. But the big losers of yesterday are the runner-ups of the other groups, who have currently three points. They will now hope that Switzerland will at least force Finland into a tiebreak. Even if the Finns win the tiebreak, they would have two wins and six points, but a set ratio of 8:9. Most of the group runners-up with three points (except Israel) are aiming for a set ratio of at least 6:6, which would put them ahead of Finland.

Why is Laura Künzler not in the roster? Is she already retired from NT?

Laura Künzler (the CEV conceals its double name) is on the roster. She was even part of the Swiss squad for the finals of the European Silver League, although she didn't play there.

  • havent they heard of youtube

During Dutch club season it's usually one-camera streams, so if that's the case now as well I understand them posting it there rather than YT. My experience with the website is quite positive at least :drink: even if it will be just one steady camera angle, it's better than nothing!

  • Alsmeier is not in the roster for tomorrow, Timmer is there instead :gone:

There hasn't been any update about her injury, in fact DVV hasn't even mentioned it with one word, so I sincerely hope her WCH participation is not in danger. We should beat Switzerland without her, but not any higher level opponents.
