Arthur Cohen (stats guy) came with the squad. I don't think I've seen him before? Was he present last time?
So, he was there for the European Championship qualifier against Switzerland in Wiesbaden.
Butt I have to admit, though, that I don't really like the fact that they didn't involve German statisticians. Someone like Christian Knospe, who can scout both men's and women's teams at a high level, could have been used instead.

There is no press release yet from DVV, only the Insta post, so I wonder if there will be any explanation for Kindermann's absence.

Probably Nestler in terms of being closest to decent international level. Timmer was constantly mediocre, Jatzko had some good and some not so good showings but hurt her shoulder in semifinal, Isabel Martin IMO didn't get enough chances there.

Wow. That's actually quite an insult towards Kindermann, and no matter how mediocre she herself is as a player, IMO she doesn't deserve this treatment

I agree, if the level is not too different then I'd choose the one who's been with the team all summer. She might not be the best opposite but neither is Weske, and although the latter perhaps has more experience I kinda liked the leftie surprise Kindermann brought. But if they wanna beat Poland/Italy they will probably need to play with receiving opp anyway, either Alsmeier/Orthmann/Stigrot or with Stautz.

I'm actually surprised that kindermann got the chop instead of weske. When I watched them both, I had the feeling that kindermann was less terrible than weske (I still think both are very bad, probably worst opps of German nt in 2-3 decades)

Stautz is very valuable as serving/back row sub, there was never any doubt on her being there. And actually whenever she got to play front row she also did good things, the only element she's completely lost is block.
