Some adjustments will be needed tomorrow, because they were a bit too much inconsistent and Antropova had some down moments here and there, but they passed through it. A pity for Chieri, they defended so hard (a couple of digs by Spirito were great) and the impressive workload by Németh could've deserved better luck. If she had played for a top team, then yeah, but Chieri has to play this way to be competitive, and they pretty much overachieve this season with this specific approach, so I don't know.

Yeah, but the faster you play, the bigger risk you take and the bigger is your margin of error. As great as Nemeth-Nervini-Kunzler trio is this season, Chieri's system has its limitations (obviously, they don't have a tier 1 opposite and their middles are pretty mid offensively overall), but there's a reason why they're pretty much on par with Milano or Novara this season so far despite clearly having a weaker roster. How Van Aalen would adjust if given another chance in the top club - is another story, but even today Chieri was at 46% attack percentage while clearly being out-matched on paper, and there's a reason to that. But it would be quite optimistic to expect even more from them when they have like one player (Nervini/Kunzler) who would be a starter in Scandicci.
The same with Novara to some extent: not saying that criticism of Bernardi or Cambi is undeserved, but Conegliano in general still operates on a different stratosphere.

Bernardi's subs make no sense. Players were visibly confused multiple times, like when he put Ishikawa as a serving sub for Squarcini lol. They were threatening a comeback in set 2 and he did nothing, no Ishikawa or Avermaet. Alsmeier wouldn't even look at him. Only when momentum was dead in the 3rd did he put Ishikawa. I don't blame Ishikawa, what is she supposed to do? Cambi couldn't set to zone 4 and she had no time to get into the game.
