Lorena Lorber Fijok suffered a torn ligament in her foot and was on crutches on today's media day in Dresden. So it's quite questionable if she will be able to play in the Super Cup in a bit more than 2 weeks.

Oh no

Oh no

She will be out for at least 8 weeks.

that's really tragic.

But as the German saying goes: "Better an end with horror than a horror without end." And the entire situation surrounding SC Potsdam has been nothing but horror for a long time.
The VBL's task now is to get the Roten Raben Vilsbiburg to definitely get promoted next season. They are also probably the favorites for the title in the 2. Bundesliga Pro this season, but despite the mandatory promotion requirement, they are not currently required to be promoted.

Wow. So sorry for all the players!!
Any news which league they will now play in?
-
Thats sad. And the team is currently in Turkey, playing friendly games in Zeren’s tournament

The VBL website states that the return of the first division license will have no impact on the second team. This means that it will continue to play in the 2. Bundesliga North.

What a disaster
And that two weeks before the start of the season
Potsdam is angry at the league, claiming they had documents to prove their financial stability, but VBL clearly says that they couldn't provide necessary proof for that. If they hadn't withdrawn on their own, the league would have revoked their license and the club would have suffered even harder penalties, so they quit on their own.
I'm really sorry for the players and staff, at this point it's not easy to find a new club.

I mean Dresden could need one or two more players especially since Fijok will probably be out until December.
But I guess they won't do it to safe money...

Michelle Bachmann could be an option in my eyes.

Anyone that can explain me how they will be able to play supercup on 4 october when fivb has a strict rule that club season can start only from 6 october? In Italy 1st round had to be moved on monday and in Belgium they had to cancel supercups because they were scheduled for 5 october.
Also all FIVB transfer for Schwerin and Dresdner (8 foreign players for each team) are valid only from 6 october.

On VBL site all players are marked as eligible to play.
But good question, I didn't know about this date. Maybe "Supercup" is not an official competition unlike league or national Cups?

The start of the Italian league is comparable to the start of the German men's league. I already described this in the Serie A thread a few weeks ago when the topic came up there.
The fact that Belgium has to cancel its Supercup and Germany doesn't is, of course, strange. For Dresden, the aforementioned rule would affect three players, but for Schwerin, a six. However, since the VBL has already officially announced the Supercup, all players must be available.

According to the portal insuedthueringen.de, VfB Suhl is interested in acquiring Alina Nasin from SC Potsdam as their fourth middle blocker.
-
Serbia also rescheduled supecup from 4th to 8th
-
Also Romanian men's supercup initially scheduled for 11 oct to play same day as women has been moved to TBD date on FIVB request so still no explanation how Germany manage to have their supercup still confirmed on 4 (and same with ligacup men from 10 to 12 october)

It is official competition. Belgium federation thought they could place it before 6 oct because wasn't league but didn't work. Also FIVB is not letting Cugno playing in regional competition in Brazil.

Gray and Baird are playing in it though for Osasco?
and Athletes Unlimited is starting on Friday... unless they don't need FIVB clearance for them since its own thing.
