Germany - VBL 1. Bundesliga 2025/26

  • Schwerin - Borken 3:0 stats

MVP: Anna Artyshuk (why? :what:) / Fabienne Coenders

    Stuttgart - Dresden 3:0 stats

MVP: Lucia Varela / Patricia Nestler

I wonder if van der Werff isn't healthy or if she's actually worse than Rosemann from Dresden's youth team who replaced Siksna during the match.

Flacht - Suhl 0:3 (no stats available yet)

MVP: Frauke Neuhaus / Roosa Laakkonen

    Hamburg - Aachen 1:3 stats

MVP: Hannah Ammerman / Kacey Jost

Major 3rd set relaxation from Aachen gave Hamburg their first set of the season.

  • Very entertaining 1st set between Dresden and Schwerin :super: Both teams with terrible reception but that leads to many hard fought rallies.

Ferhat Akbas has been in Dresden since some days to observe Akimoto and is also in the hall today to see her performing very well again  Her serving streak was decisive to turn the set around.

  • Today Reesink looks like a world class libero with Nestler on the other side who is totally off :gone:

Well I just started watching and Reesink already got aced 3 times...:S

  • Lavinska is deadline in attack!:box:

  • Schwerin really not working well so far... Their outside hitters underperform big time! Bad reception, but also no power in attack. I don't understand why Kok doesn't get more chances... Also setters are not precise in their setting.

  • Dresden - Schwerin 3:2 stats

MVP: Marta Levinska / Anna Artyshuk

Levinska started slow but then scored 16 pts in the last two sets :white::obey: Nestler also stabilised her performance after a horrible start. In the long run Dresden will face problems by playing basically with one MB. Siksna does nothing except an occasional block, Rosemann isn't ready for this level yet and the only ball touch Van der Werff had so far this season was a serve error in Supercup. I wonder how good the American girl who ended up ghosting Dresden would have been :/

As for Schwerin, I agree that it's mysterious why Kok gets so few chances, she looked quite good with NT in summer. Felix hasn't really figured out how to make use of his roster.

But Dresden had the same problem with Emma Clothier at the beginning of last season. She didn't really click right away either, and where is she playing now? So I would give Amanda and Alex a little more time. Maybe he can get even more out of her. She's coming straight from a Canadian college, so she might need a little more time to adjust to the Bundesliga.

Regarding Florentine Rosemann, I'm simply delighted that she now appears to be a permanent member of the Bundesliga squad. This will certainly help her development. Furthermore, you has to consider that she's coming back from an injury and is now suddenly playing in the Bundesliga, which certainly wasn't the plan. Depending on the situation, she also has another one or two years of school ahead of her, so she has plenty of time to learn a lot.

  • I have to admit, I really don't understand the plan with Franziska Heil. I watched VCO Münster's games yesterday and today, where she played. She plays middle blocker there, just like she did a week ago at the Bundespokal U18. If USC and the DVV now want to retrain her as an opposite, shouldn't they also ask that she can play that position everywhere?
