Arina played in Poland against this exact team in 2023 though. It doesn't make sense for it to be because of this.

Yeah, there's a formal ban for travelling of Russians to Poland and having a right of residence in the EU is one of the exemption, but there are others and so far players were obtaining visas, Fedorovtseva included in multiple instnces. Recently, there was a discussion about Russian ski jumpers being banned from performing in Poland and a communicate about not allowing such situations, but I thought it's about individual players only. The news from Turkish site says that there are delays and if her visa application isn't processed on time, she won't came (according to my Google Translate, lol), so that's why I was guessing this is something procedural. But I guess we'll see if we interpret our law differently now, who knows.

In luge the athletes under AIN flag (Rus) were recently don`t recieved visas for Sigulda (Latvia), and it's unclear whether they'll receive them for Winterberg (Germany). Surprisingly, they received visas for the USA (Lake Placid) in December. Italy practically always accepts them and even allows them to train in winter sports there, and Hungary also, in some the summer sports. I don't know about France.

This is some funny, because now Poland is governed by a coalition of parties, who usually had good relations with Russia - at least most of these parties were like that 15-20 years ago and one of these parties is the: SLD, which has its roots in the Polish People's Republic - a country subordinated to the USSR until 1989.
