I guess choking is in our volleyball DNA
such a shame, all sets they are leading by a few points only to give it away in the end -
These two teams are like.. you win 2,3 points, then it's my turn (to win 2,3 points)

2-2... Exactly what
the teamsthe fans deserved

such a shame, all sets they are leading by a few points only to give it away in the endI just started a stream and they lost like 5 points haha, I felt like the jinx. Tbh doing this well against a senior team is much more than I expected. Playing with two liberos does just make me wonder if our OHs are just such bad passers

I think Krikhaar is actually a better OH than libero, at least in this age group. She's part of the main 4 players (with Molenaar, Wessels and Strikwerda) where the other 3 spots still rotate a bit. But she's quite tall for a libero and knows how to hit the block/line, very mature. I wonder if she might continue this route during club season in the future

The young NL players have a bright future

What a fun game that was! NL with strong services, unfortunately middles could not be involved as much today (or Luna preferring OH/OPPs). When Vietnam did their creative plays with everyone running around you could see the Dutch age because they looked completely lost
also in long rallies VIE looked more composed. All in all I think it was a very fruitful game for both teams in terms of learning.I'm expecting the Chinese team to win the final so I'm just gonna aim for other goals: less service errors, more blocks and more MB points
Vietnam should be able to beat Shangai if they keep playing organised and put service pressure as well! -

Vietnam should be able to beat Shangai if they keep playing organised and put service pressure as well!I think both the Vietnam team and later the Chinese u21 will benefit from the experience in facing tall opponents with strong serves. Hopefully this can help both teams in their preparation for the world championship (for Vietnam) and the u21 WCH (for the Chinese team).

Wow, I'm surprised by the bronze result! Did Vietnam not have enough rest after last night's 2-3?
I hope to be home in time to watch the final. Did China lose a set already this tournament? Not many, right?
-

Hello, anyone else watching the final ?
-
Me! Just got home, again just in time for set point (16-24). Unfortunately the wrong side this time
how are they doing? Can they put up a fight or is it a walk-over -

how are they doing? Can they put up a fight or is it a walk-overThey were closely matched at first but strong serving by their captain Li (no 5) resulted in a big lead 22-12, then 24-14, NL picked up 4 more points before the set ended.

It's nice to see them playing a team that can hit equally hard (or even harder). They are not doing bad but China is clearly two-three steps ahead. Do the VNL setter and MBs belong to this U21 team usually?
-
Coach be like "reception is tragic anyway, might as well play with two opposites to add some height at the net"

Setter Zhang (b 2008) and mb Ao (b 2007) could've played for u19/u21 but the calendar is packed with competitions during this period so they had to choose which team to join. Ao is in the u21 wide roster, but I doubt she will join.

China u21's reception is not much better and their court coverage is horrendous
