Chinese Female Superleague 2025/2026 (with 2025 National Championship and others)

  • Great comeback in set 3! :super: low errors, more sets to Heilig (MB) and great service/block. Meering is holding up well as OH. Setter is also playing better than yesterday with more accuracy and better distribution. Can they continue the stunt and take it to 5?! :rose: nonetheless I'm already proud and they seem to be enjoying themselves which is most important

  • Not the coach handing out a win by double subbing after he already made 3 subs, just for that 1 rotation :hit: poor Hofhuis never stood a chance with her 175cm ;( China is the deserved winner but I would have loved to watch another set of this, it finally became a battle

My favourite roster of Chinese (in 2022)
    male NT:
    S - Yu Yao-chen, Chen Lei-yang
OP - Jiang Chuan, Dai Qing-yao
    OH - Zhang Jing-yin, Yu Yuan-tai, Liu Li-bin, Fu Hou-wen
    MB - Zhang Zhe-jia, Peng Shi-kun, Li Yong-zhen, Jiang Zhen-yang
    L - Yang Yi-ming, Yang Tian-yuan

    female NT:
    S - Yao Di, Diao Lin-yu
    OP - Gong Xiang-yu, Sun Xiao-xuan
    OH - Li Ying-ying, Wang Yi-fan, Wu Meng-jie, Zhuang Yu-shan
MB - Yuan Xin-yue, Wang Yuan-yuan, Zheng Yi-xin, Liu Yu
    L - Ni Fei-fan, Xu Jia-nan

  • Yes they won, but I think they could've done better. It's a wakeup call... their weakness in reception, court coverage and defence is glaring. Second setter (no 6) need to improve...

No 5 Li saved the team with her strong serves and hitting (her only weakness, reception) and No 1 Zhao also impressed.

Hello coach, it's me again :call:

Hello coach, it's me again :call:

In fact, when Shan Linqian (No.18) and Zhu Hangting (No.10) "returned", I felt China should win the match.

  • Wow, that trophy is huge! Couldn't have fit in our suitcases anyway :tzz:

I hope all the girls will get a nice dinner or party after the ceremony to make new contacts/friends among the other teams and celebrate the fun and educational week :drink:

Russia did that in Rio and kosheleva had a "WTF" face to the coach

  • 1) MVP, Zhao Zhexi, the spike, from a high pass from the back... that was special :cheesy:

    2) I've said many times before... to let Yindi try the OH position ! 3) tomen name of this Shanghai player? tks 4) The French captain.. Asian ancestry ?

Shanghai's MB is 唐懿轩 (Tang Yixuan).

In theory, Shanghai U21's two MBs are Tang Yixuan and Chen Houyu.

  • They said Yindi Wang was injured, but she's playing here.

So why isn't she registered for the WC U21?

I've been following Yindi since she was a 16yo playing for Shanxi in a youth tournament. Even at that age she could jump quite high and able to hit quite hard. However since she started playing professionally she mostly played in the opposite position where she had limited success. The fact that she doesn't get too many accurate sets played a part in this situation. I feel Yindi was never given a chance to show her full potential... until now, at this Shanghai event. Her earlier performance could have affected her chances in the u21 this year or even the NT. Anyway, Yindi was already a winner with the 2023 u21 team, and I think none of the players from that team has been picked for this year eventhough some are still eligible. :/

  • Is the Vietnam U21 female coach the former player of the Chinese team? Her face looks familiar but cannot remember her name.

Btw, in the final CHN U21 bt NED U21 3-1, and Shanghai won the third place beating VIE U21.
