Continental All-stars

    Inspired by Markovic s idea. What would be rosters for a hypothetical continental world championship? And who would win it?


    Assuming all active players would accept playing in their confederations, I think ranking would be:


    1. CEV
    2. NORCECA
    3. AVC
    4. CSV
    5. CAVB

    My CEV roster would be:

    Markova-Arina-Sylla-Uzelac

    Fahr-Danesi-Zehra-Korneluk

    What would be your confederation teams?

    I can't remember who exactly but I'm pretty sure this was suggested already probably by Jordan Larson or someone else from Team USA and FIVB outright rejected it I don't even know why probably financial issues? but this would've been an interesting tournament if it ever materialized considering it's what rich federations like China and Japan wanted

    The biggest fight for spot would be again in CEV team since there are so many strong NT. the other continents like Norcea and CSV are relativly easy for Spot.

    Cook-Gray-Plummer-Martinez

    I know you’re not forgetting Skinner and Maglio lol

    I would replace maglio with white, Brie with Perez. And maybe skinner with Plummer.

    I don't think this is possible at such a large scale. I haven't seen an Allstar like this for any other commercial sport.


    The idea of an allstar is more for money and media exposure. It would also mean that sponsors need huge names for them to invest in in order to approve of something like this. For example in NBA their Allstars are letting celebrities like Bieber and Messi join a team with LeBron vs Curry.

    instead of it being a separate tournament why not start as something like VNL ALL STARS? like a supplement after VNL with all the best players who performed during the tournament. That's basically what Kim Yeon Koung is doing rounding up all the known volleyball figures over the years

    It doesn't need to be a separate event. To me it could be opening game of WCh, just to promote friendship and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. It could be a nice kick off to a tournament and engaging with audience.

    skorost thats also not a bad idea but since VNL doesnt have any big importance and only to increase popularity of Volleyball, could be added to it aswell like VNL + All Stars who performed well.


    But this could involve ofc only active Players. There is still another chance to organize a veteran event.

    In a conjectural secario CEV and every other federation would not choosed only based on who is the best but also based on who is more popular or who they favor.

    An all star team based on CEV possible criteria would definitely include:


    S: Orro ( for sure) and Wolosz or Maja

    OP : Egonu ( for sure) and Boskovic ( or more unlikely Vargas)

    OH: Sylla and Arina ( for sure) and in the next two positions could include several names ( Markova, Ebrar, Hande, Bosetti, Nika, Voronkova etc)

    MB : Zehra ( for sure) , Farh and probably two of Danesi, Eda and less likely Korneluk

    L: Moki and one of Simge, Gizem, Fersino or generally someone good and famous.
