Fun to see Chika Yanagi start ahead of Asano on sunday. Her serve and attack seem to have more oomph compared to last year's U21.

Position Movement after this Weekend's Matches
Saga clinched their playoff spot
Denso swept their two matches, while all of the other teams battling for the 8th spot, Saitama, Astemo and Kurobe all lost their matches. This allowed Denso to move into the 8th spot. More importantly, Denso has point gaps over all of the teams behind them. So, a loss by Denso will not drop them a spot at present.
Aranmare, Okayama and Toray have all been eliminated from playoff contention.

I must say PFU is impressive. They don't seem to have any foreign player outside of Asia?

Vargas is domesticated from Cuba, but went to high school in Japan. They have played well this year.

Position Movement after this weekend's matches
Victorina's loss today against Saga and PFU's sweeping of Denso, puts the Blue Cats back into 4th.
Saitama's weekend sweep of Toray, combined with the Denso losses puts Saitama into 8th place. Still Denso has the points advantage if both teams are tied on wins.

Ayami Urayama is now officially as fun to watch as Miiku Iwasawa

Any of the PFUs called for NT? It feels like they are competing with every team despite not having many foreign players., they are very fun to watch !

PFU took advantage to leapfrog Osaka Marvelous into 3rd place, and now have a 1 game advantage (and points).
NEC has a two game advantage over Saga and can clinch 1st place in the regular season with 2 wins.
Saga with a win will lock in at least 2nd spot position.
Osaka Marvelous has a game advantage over Victorina.
Queenseis have a game advantage over Gunma.
Saitama matched Denso's weekend wins to stay in 8th place.
If one team sweeps next weekend's Saitama vs. Denso games, that team will likely be the 8th seed in the playoffs.
Astemo and Kurobe were both eliminated from the playoffs this weekend.
Okayama's sweep of the weekend against Toray put them into 12th place.
-
Position Movement after Saturday's Matches
Queenseis clinched their playoff spot with their win and Denso's loss.
Gunma gets into the playoffs with a win or a Denso loss.
Saitama wins and they also clinch their spot (and the final of the 8 spots)
NEC win and they will clinch the number 1 seed, or a Saga loss will do it as well.Saga is basically number 2 at this point, but would need 3 straight NEC losses to pass them.

The Full Set between PFU and Kurobe was a blast. Can't believe Kurobe won it. Really PFU lost it, but same thing
Japan has no shortage of liberos but Ayami Urayama has to make the NT cut. She has a way of turning off her body so that she becomes a glob of dead meat. It's an effective way of taking the heat off a ferocious spike. She's really skilled in all aspects of being a libero -
