Anyone excited for tonights match ? It will be a full crowd in the match final Sweden-Slovenia. Hopefully that will give some energy to the swedish team to which hopefully can make them compete against a (in my opinion) bit stronger Slovenian team.
I'm watching the match on Swedish Television right now, Sweden won the first set 25–18 and Slovenia the second 25–21.
In the second set Slovenia has had a consistent point advantage over Sweden and we have had 5 serve errors, 2 reception errors and 1 attack errors. Conversely, Slovenia's Pucelj has demonstrated great attack excellence in the 2nd set. The competition between Sweden and Slovenia is indeed tougher than 2022 and 2024.
Slovenia wins the third 25–17 but after a thriller and lots of challenges called, Sweden wins the fourth 27–25! The fifth set will be a real showdown.
Sillah is a really great star that can rival Isabelle Haak. Slovenia is really lucky to have her as an addition to their national team.
With both sides having won two sets, this is how the fifth set will affect the World Ranking points: If Slovenia wins, they're up to 193.81 points and Sweden will be down to 168.87 points, falling behind Thailand. If Sweden wins, Sweden will be up to 176.37 points and Slovenia will be down to 186.31 points and the ranks will be unchanged.

With a spike from Isabelle Haak, Sweden has scored its FOURTH victory against Slovenia since 2022!
Neneh Sillah and Anna Haak have been named MVPs of the match.
Congrats Sweden! 😍 Julevik plays much better than before her injury.
I wonder if Slovenia's poor performance was due to discovering that Russia had returned to the rankings, effectively ending their chances of competing in the VNL in 2027.

they played ok...sweden play good
The performance in the first two sets was what I was not expecting and our players are apparently experiencing some anxious stress. As Isabelle Haak once said, "When I have mental balance then I have the courage to take place, trust myself and enjoy the game. But when it's tough in the head, then everything becomes heavier, even the thing I actually like. It's about having inner peace in both body and mind. Then I can be my best me."
We made 3 attack errors, 2 reception errors and a whopping total of SIX service errors in the first set, and then FOUR attack errors, 1 reception error and 3 service errors in the second set. There were many serves and spikes played by Blågult that unfortunately went out of bounds.
I'm grateful that Sweden won the third set with much improved reception (44%, compared to 18% and 21%) and attack excellence (54%, compared to 30% and 29%).
Now the fourth set is in motion, and may the best team win.
Stats from the fourth set has just dropped:
Attack excellence is at 48% and reception excellence is unfortunately at 0% (positivity is 27% though). On the Slovenian side they have good reception excellence at 35% and attack excellence at 38%.
Bella has scored the first point for the fifth set. Hope the fire keeps going!

Oh noo
Sweden has won the 2026 European League!
Great work to Slovenian players, too. Well played.
Let's hope everybody gets the rest they need before EuroVolley 2026 begins in more than a month's time, and I hope Sillah recover soon.
