    2nd round of qualification - 26-29.3.2026

  • Serbia has a 16-year old MB who is 202 cm tall: Lea Zvjer. https://www-old.cev.eu/Competi…7&PlayerID=109489&ID=1770

Serbia has the 12-year old kid Helena Blagojevic (born 2013) in their U18 roster. She is already 189 cm tall. Is she related to Jelena Blagojevic? Cofi

    https://www-old.cev.eu/Competi…7&PlayerID=109475&ID=1770

Well I haven’t heard about Lea, she isn’t on the current roster for U17 qualification, nor did I hear of her in previous years.

I know about Helena, honestly volleySrb knows her better. She is at least 190cm and taller so far and MVP of U16 Serbian chmapionship with random club from small town. A real talent but I haven’t seen her play.

She was in this roster for U17 qualification but didn’t make a final cut since she is only 12yo.

She’s not related to Jelena afaik.

  • Quick yapping for my team: Reception was terrible (but i guess no team have it) double sub with lara and melis did not work, both setters had good connections with middles, lots of serve errors.

    Few notables from other teams:

Kalina Veneva (yeah she is still good and only one that can kill a ball in bulgaria)

Bianca-Gabriela Cucu (Romania, oh, 187cm offensively she is really solid)

Sofija Duletić (MB, went 9/17, 4 blocks)

HM: Anastasija Koprivica (opp, monenegro), Adriana Aleksieva (mb, bulgaria)

  • Darina Naneva is best Bulgarian player and middle on tournament

  • Of course not, but there is a huge correlation between say future potential/ability and height on particularily the MB/OPP-positions, especially nowadays. How many elite OPPs are below 192 cm?

Well there's Van Ryk and I could argue that Wada should be counted in that, I believe Drews is below that height as well

  • Quick türkiye yapping v2: Positive reception was better today, we used Aylin a lot on pipe attacks, her range is getting better, very good on line shots. Minel Nefin went 16/26, her range is better than Ecrin Selis (both relies on power but Ecrin just hits cross court a lot) reception rate went up but middle/setter connection was not there.

I kinda like Serbia but it's all about individual performances, they were messy as a team.

Sara KRSMANOVIĆ and Lara VUČUREVIĆ are a good duo. Sara is a better reciever and Lara is slightly better on attack. MB Anja PLIPOVIC might also become a solid player

HMs are OH Dimitra Razakia from Greece and OH Edna Todorova from Bulgaria.

Semi-finals are Bulgaria Vs Romania and Türkiye vs Montenegro

  • I kinda like Serbia but it's all about individual performances, they were messy as a team.

Sara is decent passer even in her team in Serbian league, she is the only one from this squad that plays as starter in the league.

Lara is good attacker for youth level and she looks athletic.
Pilipović might be interesting in the future.

Maša Radojević (2011, OH) who played as OP is the most interesting player from this squad imo. She has very mature approach and technique, besides her being small everything about her game looked very mature.

Our setters are by far the biggest problem as usual.

This squad really misses Nadja Antonović (2009, OH) who is a real talent and already plays as starter in Crvena Zvezda (Red Star) Belgrade, top5 club in the league, as one of their go to scorrers.
Also the big talent of this generation, Andjelija Tadić (2010, OP) is not there.

All in all we struggle too much cause our setting SUCKS big time, but that’s nothing new for us haha

  • I checked up Tadic and she has already, despite being 15 y.o, been contracted by SB Community for more than a year. They must have recruited her when she was 13-14 yrs old. In the comment sections of SB there are some people who write like: "I hope you dont destroy her like Vanja Savic. You only care about money and not about the players". Is this true, did SB "destroy" Savic? And I wonder what your opinion is about Serbian vball kids being contracted by SB? Is there an ethical or moral problem with it, and is it beneficial for the development of a player to be contracted so early in their lives? 20-30 yrs ago I dont think kids were recruited to agencies in the same way, and in many countries they are still untouched at this stage.

I would say Savic destroyed herself, she chased money on young age and did not want to return in serbia when she failed.

  • Turkish team has very good outsides and a great opp. Aylin uysalcan seems to be exactly what NT needed as backup to Vargas. She just needs to go to a team to play full time next season. Outsides Ecrin and Hiranur are both very good at their age. Also nefin and lara are great prospects. Unfortunately best player of this generation ezel Balık (MB) isn't in the team.
