Still can't believe Dresden managed to build up such a strong team. At least on the paper. Kindermann and Dvoracek are both too good for the bench. I wonder who will be first OPP.
-
Yes, Dresden on paper very strong. But they still have to find together as a team.
Seems last season was a consilidation year for Dresden. Given Stuttgart's superiority, they didn't stand much of a chance for championship and saved some money to attack this year.
The titles for Suhl were a singular phenomenon because of
-slump of Stuttgart at the end of the season
-Dresden consolidation year and sickness in finals
-Schwerins weak libera
-withdrawal of Potsdam
-few injuries in Suhls starting 6
Probably Suhl had done it also with de Paula and Artyshuk instead of Foley and Brancuska.
-
I think Münster and mainly Aachen will come closer this year. Erfurt has the Chance to be the suprising team finishing around 6.

Stuttgart signed Jordan Iliff (Opp-USA)
Their roster feels quite... underwhelming compared to Dresden

Is she left handed? Maybe this is an important reason for signing her.

As mentioned it looks to me that Stuttgart has even less budget than previous season, which was already about 10% lower than the season before.

Vilsbiburg has confirmed Pia Fernau, Annie Hatch, Jeannette Huskic, Nadine Burbrink, Tina De Groot and Emely Brodowski for next season.

I think, Dresden won an indirect, but real financial advantage by getting promoted their federal base for young players as primary, newly financed by several stakeholders, so they have more money remaining for their first league team next season. Never underestimate what money can do in professional team sports.

I don't know if DSC and VCO Dresden are somehow financially connected to each other.
But it might be a factor.
-
Reading the goodbye-messages from VCO Dresden, I guess that Lena Olliges will be 2nd setter and Emilia Schaarschmidt 2nd libero for Dresden.

I don't know if the restructuring of youth volleyball is a reason for Dresden's higher budget. VCO Dresden and Dresdner SC are financially separate. VCO Dresden is also heavily funded by state grants. That's why they had significant financial concerns before the start of last season. (See: VC Olympia Dresden startet mit Finanzloch in die neue Saison)
I can think of two things that might allow them to increase their budget. First, DSC, like Stuttgart and Schwerin, has been trying to secure a title sponsor for quite some time. Perhaps they were able to finalize it for this season.
Second: Before last season, Dresden SC planned to take over the lease of the Margon Arena and renovate it themselves. This would have required a significant contribution of their own labor. Perhaps they then looked for additional investors, and after the project fell through, these investors decided to invest in the team instead.

The widely speculated league-wide introduction of the video challenge system in the Bundesliga was officially announced today by the VBL. The project is designed to span the next five years and utilizes the system developed by the company Super Volley Vision.

I'm curious how Lazlo will develop her. She won't get much time on court but it's the tight decision to move to a strong club. I wonder if Naujack will be a starter next season.

Every player said they learnd a lot from Laszlo playing or not. I think Feistritzer will have the same playing time like Hartmann last season and i hope Svea will play a lot this season.
The question is how good will the fourth OH be?
