    Selection for the "Four Nations Cup" this weekend will be like this:

    S; van Aalen & Bongarets

    OPP; Dambrink & van de Vosse

    OH; Knollema, Marring, Jansen, J. Kok, Vos & Savelkoel

    MB; Baijens, Timmerman, Stuut & Gerritsen

    L; H. Jasper & Reesink


    Based on the selection, they will play the whole summer with the best available players. I've read a short interview of Marrit Jasper and she decided not to play this NT season, because the staff wanted the players available the whole summer.


    Good to see Knollema, Baijens and H. Jasper are back after their injuries! Seems like ten Brinke has a serious injury, otherwise she should have been with the team instead of Gerritsen... Also I'm sad Molenaar didn't get anymore chances to show herself :|

    If they really want to play most of the summer with this line-up it makes sense to bring Reesink and Hester, as Molenaar is captain of the U22 squad playing the ECH beginning of July. I guess they are starting their preparations soon as well, perhaps some of the remaining long list girls like Kuipers continue training with them at Papendal? Also I guess this means Gerritsen will be with A-team again this summer and not join U22.


    But who knows, maybe Pippa can join again after VNL :cheesy: /wishfulthinking

    BTW Weitzel is playing, U thought she wouldn't be with the team...

    Britt Bongaerts captain in absence of Daalderop. Good decision IMO!


    Marring is missing, hope it's nothing serious :|

    Mine impression from the friendly matches:


    Setters; I think van Aalen should be the starting setter, because she plays a fast game and is more creative than Bongaerts. Especially her connection with the middles is a pleasure to watch :love: On the other hand, Bongaerts her setting to position is much better and all outside hitters play better with her as setter...


    Opposite; Dambrink is a big disappointment! She played better than last week, but she is only good with a fast in system set... Van de Vosse IMO is a bit better ATM, but isn't a world class opposite either. She should limit her errors and she should play with more courage!


    Outside hitters; To be honest, Knollema disappointed me a bit after a good season in Firenze. She had a hard time killing the balls. Hope she just has to adjust after she didn't play for NT last year! Jansen is our best defensive outside hitter in absence of Marrit Jasper. She did a decent job! Kok played really well and carried the team against France! Hope she will develop furter this summer. Savelkoel and Vos didn't play a lot, but I also think they aren't good enough for international level. Hope Marring and Daalderop will be healthy soon!


    Middle blockers; As I said before, Stuut is our best middle blocker ATM! Especially her attack is great! Also a dangerous serve! She should work on her speed in blocking though. Timmerman did a better job compared to last week, but still she doesn't seem to be in her best shape. Also her blocking is a bit too slow. Baijens only played one set, but she could be a good contribution to the team! Although today against Germany she wasn't that bad, but I don't believe Gerritsen is ready for international level (yet). Her attack is non existing and also her block is too slow. Hope ten Brinke will be with the team later!


    Libero; Reesink is Reesink and she won't become any better... Hester Jasper only played one set, but only her defense is 100 times better than Reesink, so hope to see her more!!!
