Greece - HVL 2007/2008

  • And the semifinals will be Iraklis-Panathinaikos and Milonas-EAP, so one of the two strongest teams won't reach the final. Personally, I 'm hoping for an Iraklis-EAP final.

  • The Greek All Star Game (which was supposed to be held this month but got cancelled due to the death of the Archbishop of Greece) wil take place in autumn (!) , cause there are no more free dates, there is a tight schedule for Championship/Cup and the preparation of our national team beginns on the 12th of May). The exact date will be announced soon.

  • Is it true, that Panathinaikos is interested in Andrey Zhekov?

  • I only read it today on one Greek site, which was basically copying some Bulgarian media. So far from Greek sources I haven't heard anything. First we 've got to see if Marcelinho renews his contract with Panathinaikos.

I've read that this year is the last of the three years in the contract of Marcelo Elgarten and he deffinitely won't renew it.

  • EAP: Zhekov 4, Armenakis 23, Diaz 12, Jurisic 7, Rodrigo Arruda 13, Giourdas 15 / Dimitrakopoulos(l. – 87% ), Labropoulos, Ramma 1, Bellos 2.

Winner of the other semifinal is Panathinaikos, they beat Iraklis on tie break :( The first set ended with a yellow card to Konstantinov (he protested heavily because the referee awarded the 27th point to PAO considering a Nilsson attack to be out and not block-out).

So the final tomorrow is gonna be Panathinaikos-Patra.

I hope that Patra will win, if that happens there is better chance Panathinaikos to buy Zhekov from Patra. :)

After some unpleasant things happened in the match with Iraklis, and after i found some things Panathinaikos, maybe I don't want Zhekov to go there anymore.

  • Marsia!
Will you upload the final game?
I would like to see Liberman Agamez... peladito colombiano!
And thanks so much for your uploading, I could see many new good players.

  • Ηa, we had a big issue considering our national broadcaster (the ERT channels) over here... which was supposed to show the Cup F4 like every year, but in the end they refused. It's a long bitter story and it has been written and said too much about this in Greece during the last couple of days, from fans, journalists, teams, players and the federation...but I won't get into this right now, the thing is, it's the first time we had no TV transmission of the CUP FF, not even the Cup final... Mind you, the Cup Final Four took place in the northeasternmost corner of Greece, so supporters who didn't live close couldn't possibly attend the matches. I listened to the radio broadcasting from local stations of Thessaloniki and Patra, thank God there is internet radio :)
But I will upload more games from the rest of the regular season and the play offs.
Speaking of Agamez, he holds the record in Greece for scoring the most points (55) at a game when he played for Pagrati (which was in A1 at the time) against EAP.

  • Iraklis (Thessaloniki) - Panathinaikos (Athens) 3:0 (25:19, 25:12, 25:20). The overpraise team of Pao and his haughty head coach Mauro Beruto were smashed down by the briliant Iraklis, leaded by the bulgarian kaprain Plamen Konstantinov. He was the best scorer in the match - (11points, 1 block, 64% efficiency in both attack and receiving.) Markos Nilson and Nikos Smaragdis scored 9 points for the victory. The brazilian "stars" Marcelo Elgarten (1p.) and Amaral Dante (6p.) were looking silly on the pitch.
