Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo also won its the second match over Iraklis Thessaloniki with the score of 3-0 (27-25, 25-20, 25-19) in one hour and a half. The home team Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo played with more determination and led the match, thanks to Wijsmans and Lasko, both authors of a high performance with a total of 22 points each, and thanks to the setter Gonzalez, who achieved three ace in the third set, best player of the match. Bre Banca Lannutti head coach, Mr. Silvano Prandi declared ”We played a better match than the last one in the Italian Championship (lost against Padua 3-0). It was important to win this match as we want to go on in the competition.”

Cannes’ players were tensed at the kick-off while Budejovice played an athletic volley-ball and thanks to a huge block and a big defence, the Czech team took the first set. Supported by 1500 fans in the Palais des Victoires, AS Cannes woke up and thanks to its Finish player Olli Kunnari, best players of the match with 18 points, concluded triumphantly the three next sets. “This was a very difficult match”, noted Laurent Tillie, AS Cannes’ head coach. ”Budejovice is a big team, with a huge defence and a big block. We were not in the match at the first set, but my players managed to increase the level of the game, and they won an important match.”

Iraklis played very very bad at the first match in Thessaloniki against Cannes. At the beginning of the first set Cannes were leading 0-7, a true shock for players -and fans- of Iraklis, from which they probably never recovered... Kunnari, who's my favourite Finnish player, was excellent.
Two days ago Iraklis lost again in straight sets in Cuneo. Nilsson (Irakli's opposite) got injured (some problem with the abdominal muscles) at the last match of the Greek league (against Kifisia) and wasn't on the team. Aleh Akhrem played opposite, although originally he's a wing spiker.
