result wouldnt be better with fateeva-safronova-kulikova-pasynkova or other young player

i dont think so. it´s olympics , the will to win is bigger than any resentment

i like voronkova braveness but IMO russia will not win any important title with her and parubets as starting. Voronkova should improve her attack movement, she is too slow

Perhaps you didn't understand. I was saying that the will to win was not there, and it was a reaction to the coach.

At 2008, Artamanova backed and everything went down badly. I think she is the best Russian volleyball player ever but she damaged team chemistry...Passing, back row defence... Probably Kosheleva will do the same thing again. We'll see.

The team chemistry was a problem because the Italian coach did not understand the culture of the team, even though he was married to a former Russian player and assistant coach. The problem was not individual players, but the team deciding that they would rather lose than let him succeed.

Evgeniya Artamonova Estes, one of the all-time greatest women's volleyball players and the only 6 time indoor Volleyball Olympian, has retired from the sport of volleyball. She recently requested, and was granted, a release from her contract with her longtime club team Uralochka and plans to join her family (husband Jeri and son Jette) in the USA. She finished her amazing, enigmatic and diverse International career in consummate fashion, playing inspired volleyball at the world qualification tournament in Japan, propelling Russia to secure an Olympic berth in London (and her record 6th Olympic appearance), followed by a heartbreaking quarterfinal loss to eventual Olympic champion Brazil.

Truly a beautiful and gentle soul in her natural state, best wishes to her and many thanks for many wonderful volleyball memories.

Gamova and Goncha were married on the same day, and Makhno on the next day. Although Gamova and Goncha aren't really friends, their relationship is not as bad as the relationship between Gamova and Sokolova.

Good news for Russia: Lyuba is in good shape

She is a bit rusty clearly. Algeria scored half their points on her overpasses or hitting errors. She is recovering though, and hopefully will be able to contribute more in the cross-over.

He is essentially correct in his appraisal of the situation, even though he does not say it directly. Cabrara was not a good fit for the team. His approach to coaching the team was to criticize their training methods, their technique, their work ethic, and their character. It obviously did not go over well. This was a team with many previous Olympians, and he had no Olympic experience. The player's response to him was therefore not positive, and mostly passive-aggressive. They were not willing to play well for him, even though in the end, it was the players who ended up feeling bad about the outcome.
