Gottlib, I really don't understand what you mean by giving Spain as an an example, may be you mean 47 millions is the same as 7 millions???
About the good russian attitude towards the bulgarians - you said it yourself bulgarian players playED in Russia. You know very well why they don't play there anymore.
If you say that Matej Kazijski was the best player for the bulgarian team in Beijing (I wish this was true) but it means that you watched some other games.
As for the setter who doesn't need to be blocker. Come on! Show me one coach who will give up on a setter with such a block. It doesn't matter whether the killing block is made by the setter or the MB. It's still a point. Besides the opponent is expecting a good block by the MBs so their setter always trys to put his players against the "weakest" man on the net - the opponent setter. And if that guy makes a good block, that's a hudgde advantage.
You may be mistaken me for some other bulgarians who say their team is the best. I don't. But I try to be positive. If I wanted to be negative it was the easiest thing to prove you that may be Zhekov is not the best, but there is one even weaker setter...

I didn't say that statistic is the most important thing. I just gave an example. What I ment was that I can not accept an oppinion saying that Zhekov is a WEAK setter (that's the exact quote). I'm not blind I see his suffering with the MBs. But I also see his serve and his block and for sure can say that in those 2 elements he is among the two best setters in the world. Besides I'm sure all the bulgarian fans know very well with what reception Zhekov is forced to work with. And even those guys from the team who critisised him for the last years said yesterday at the airport that now Zhekov is a man, not the boy that he used to be. You can interpret that your own way.

This russian arrogance is outstanding. I cheerd for Russia against USA but after what I read here I deeply doubt I will again.
As for the comparison between Russia and Bulgaria let's compare the money given for the russian team and those for the bulgarian, let's compare the human resource - the population of both countries. And the bulgarians still manage not to be better but to be equal.
But what amazed me the most is about the WEAK setter. This weak setter is still number 3 in the setters competion although the bulgarians are out. And if that is not enough - Zhekov is the best setter in the blockers competition, Zhekov is the best setter in the servers competition, Zhekov is the best setter in the diggers competition...
I'm far from telling that he is foultless or that the bulgarian team is the best. Since they are not playing tomorrow it means that there were better players and teams. But I can not accept such definitions for the bulgarian team or setter simply because they are narrow-minded. -
Yeah - fought. Cause that's really the most important thing here. Thank you!!!

Seeing the pictures after Bulgaria-Russia just breaks my heart. The Bulgarians need to dry up their eyes and heads up because they have nothing to be ashamed of. They fighted like real men. And all of them have still a lot to give to the Bulgarian volleeyball (even off the court for some of them). Yes they may be on the plane back but the airport will be full of people who still love them, even without the medals.

Ruskii, may be Alekno is not an idiot, may be he is just keeping his aces for the Olimpics, something many coaches do. What I ment about Grankin is that he is obviously not a good match for Khamuttskikh replacement. I can not imagine there is no other option but Grankin, come on you are 150 million there. Anyway congrats.

It is ironic how Brasil is starting the end of their era infront of their home crowd. And it is not the result, it's the team they lost by. It's Russia but without Berezhko, without Poltavskiy and most importantly without Khamuttskhik. Everybody knows what a setter Grankin is, I mean the guy practically lost a whole tournament by himself. And that was a tournament specifically arranged to be won by Dinamo Moscow. I wonder for how long Alekno will keep on tourchering his team and all russian supporters with Grankin. But let him, this is giving the chance to all the others. Tonight it maight be Serbia, in a less then a month it maight be someone else.

Just a little correction - Ivan Tasev is 41 years old

Redhawkvb if you give me your email I can send you the mail of the girl in the federation that can help you
-
superbobo, it is possible because it will be a controled lot and will mainly define the line of the matches, not the groups
-
Redhawkvb, at the present moment the Bulgarian team has no press person, and concidering the fact that they are entering a very busy summer they are not even picking up the phone
I don't know if anybody will answer your e-mail. BUT
the new website of the federation is about to start these days and there you will be able to find just the right contacts that you need. There will also be curious profiles of all the players, statistics, interviews, pictures, videos and stuff. Perhaps we will discuss it here when it starts

Bulgaria will face Serbia in 2 friendly games. They will take place in Serbia at the end of May and will be part of the preparation of the both teams for the World League. The host city is still to be confirmed by the Serbian federation.

Trento has one win and one lost in the regular season against both Cuneo and Piacenza so it's gonna be a tough final. As for the semifinal, if Roma don't get it together it will finish in two matches. That's why I'm already asking about the final
-
Who do you think is better for Trento for the final Cuneo or Piacenza

I don't rub anything I just shared with you what I know about who the Number 1 European player for 2007 will be. It is not me who says "Matey is the best in Europe", it's the specialists, as sNeige says. As for the note about how good Brasil is - I agree, if you start a topic about the brasilian NT I'll be the first to say that they play supernatural. The same goes for Poltavsky - as a journalist on the European championship in Moscow I voted for him to be MVP, although most of the journalists voted for their own national players. I'm sorry if you undertood my post for Matey like a nag. I just knew information that has not been published in the papers and agencies yet, and I wanted to share it with you, I thought that this was the forum about.

I like Kazjski, but I just HATE the way some Bulgarians rub it on our faces how good he is....
-
I can say it for a fact now - Matey Kazijsky is N1 player in Europe for 2007
. There was an official call of the CEV office to the Bulgarian volleyball federation, and they confirmed what we knew unofficially - it is the Bulgarian who wins. The award will be presented to Matey at 20th of April.
-
AFROMAN, if we Bulgarians don't understand each other, who else then
Ann, point taken
-
Another one HI from Sofia
It's nice to see so many fans of Bulgarian volleyball here. A good news for all of them - soon there will be T-shirt of the national team that we missed so badly in the last years.

Falasca is a great setter. No argues about that, although in the terms of setting I personally go for Grbic. Besides Grbic also has this “only qualification to the OG” on his account. Something that Falasca does not. I’ve heard that Cuba is preparing a wonderful team and Falasca and Spain may be left without this very important “only” even after the qualification round in Dusseldorf. But that is not the point – Europe’s number 1 player is not an award for the achievements of a team but of a player. It’s about the guy that makes you say “WOW. That’s not humanly possible”. With your hand on your heart – who’s that guy out of Grbic, Falasca and Kazijsky.
