I am surprised with Chaplina in this game. I think fast sets by Pankova work for her than the very high sets in Uralochka by Salina.
Isaeva and Pankova did well too in this game.

Irina should get a spot in the starting six. This is what Russia needs at this point - a good middle attacker. Forget Borisenko, Perepelkhina and Merkulova.
Dianskaya and Osickchina were snubbed by the coach. Osickchina is even the leading blocker in the league now, in terms of efficiency and percentage.
I do not want to see Borisenko too in the national team. I hope the coach will try Zarayko and Morozova for the MB position. I wonder why Osikchina was not chosen, she is one of the leading blockers in the Superleague.
Do you have a link?
And Pasynkova does receiving chores. So maybe Kosheleva-Obmochaeva-Pasynkova for the National Team?
Link pls?
Any links?
Any working link?
I really wish we can know the results of the friendly match.
That's a preview of the semi-finals. My guess is that they will meet in the semifinals and the winner will battle it out against USA for the gold medal.
The only surprise is Matienko over Akulova. I thought Akulova is sure to be the second setter of Russia.
any other link?
Why is she not playing?
I think this schedule will be better for Russia, since they seem to start slow.
I hope the schedule will work for Russia, though this is similar in 2008 where Russia faced Brazil and Italy in the first two games, then the weaker teams.
Sokolova will be arriving to Russia tomorrow. So her return to the team is final. Maybe the coach will try Estes for the Yeltsin, just to see if the team will perform well against Italy and Brazil. If not, I think Sokolova should get her position back. I really hope Gamova, Sokolova, Estes and Obmochaeva gain their top form. Only Russia or maybe Italy has the change to defeat USA.
I hope it is not serious. =(
Sokolova will play in olympics, its her intention right now at least, im sure! The only way she will not, is if Ovechnikov kick her out after she refused to play now, something I highely doubt.
My apologies, what I meant was Estes is there to replace or substitute Sokolova if she does not play well. I am 100% sure that Sokolova will play too.
My thoughts exactly. For someone originally playing as an OPP, it must be a double effort for Goncharova to receive. I was doubtful with Estes' shape but she proved me wrong. I also like to add that Startseva is giving more balls to the MBs than before (Finally). about the confusion, I agree with anton, it's a "problem" you won't mind having. : ) But I wonder, will Ovchinnikov still bring two liberos in London? It would be unfair to Kabeshova/Ulanova or Makhno to be cut out from the team in the last minute. Hmmm...
I think the coach should bring Ulanova, not Makhno. Makhno will not be of use, since Estes is there to replace Sokolova.
Spiker stats for Russias attackers so far in WQT:
2. Estes Evgenia RUS 24p 50.00 %
3. Goncharova Nataliya RUS 37p 49.33 %
4. Gamova Ekaterina RUS 39p 46.99 %
Estes is playing like she is still in her twenties. Still very powerful, specially those attacks between Zone 3 and 4. And I can see her smiling often, not like before.
