First of all, big congratulations to USA for defeating Korea. I am extremely proud of these ladies and wish them the best of luck in the finals. Its nice to see Lindsey Berg again and I hope that she will be healthy in the gold medal match.

Congrats also to Brazil for winning over Japan. They have definitely peaked at the right moment of the tournament. It is going to be an exciting finals.

    :box:

i hope japan will beat brazil... :drink:  :super: :cup:

Its going to be a tough match for the Brazilians. In Brazil's game vs Russia, the serves were easy floaters Jacque, Fabi and even Garay had no problems receiving. Dani Lins ran a good offense which led to some very good attacks. Ofcourse, Gamova was not in her usual self so all the breaks just went in favor for Brazil.

But Japan is a tough-serving team... Brazil will really be tested. And also, just like how they succumbed to Korea and USA, Brazil is prone to losing to teams who plays fast volleyball.

Japan can beat down Brazil but I want a rematch of Beijing..this time with a different result. :box:

In the press conference after the Turkey match she said it's nothing serious she just felt something was not right in her leg.. they rested her tonight so I expect her to play in the semis

And she warmed up with ease before that match against DR. No signs of any pain. I hope she is just resting for the semis. Go Lindsey!

By the way, here's the latest update on Berg (from her Facebook):

"Thank you everyone for your concerns & support...I am fine & will be taking one day at a time. #TeamUSA ... love my team"

No one knows, except the coaches and the doctors, about the situation on Berg. Whether she is healthy enough to play in the semis or not, I think letting Courtney Thompson play tonight was a big thing for her confidence in big matches. She can handle the situation pretty well, she's a tough kid. But we'll never know, maybe Berg will surprise all of us.. :box:

As what I've written above, she is a decent receiver. Certainly not a Tom or Del Core but is good enough. Anyway, its too early to talk about the finals, USA still has to handle DR while Russia needs to topple down Brazil first.

i dont think Logan attacks very well.yes she can but i dont think.i watched her in Turkey and she wasnt good at attacking.its certain she play better in the NT.Larson is agood player but Russia can conrtol her.Foluke and Harmooto are crucial players for Larsona and Logan to attack effectively.

I think that's the reason why Megan Hodge is in the roster. Russia is a very physical team and the USA's OHs of Tom and Larson may not match up with Goncharova-Sokolova/Estes. Hodge could be the answer...she is a decent receiver but is an excellent attacker and can elevate really high like Hooker. Its possible to see Tom-Hodge to start for Team USA should they meet Russia later on the tournament.

I strongly disagree. Right, Hooker touched the antenna, but something like that is very difficult to see for the referee, and it's not like it happened at 23-23. Polen clearly reached over the net on that one ball that the referee decided against her, so everything alright. And I do not remember any foul set of Berg, and in general referees are very generous with technique nowadays, so no need to complain. Özge is pretty much the only setter in the whole tournament who managed to get more than one ball handling error call...

    Correct!

Turkey got defeated by the world #1, plain and simple. No help from the referee or anyone.

Hooker touched the antene not Esra,Logan's spike was out,Polen's tip was proper, some sets of Berg's was faulty ( how to say in english= setting ball in a faulty way, ball handling?))..and some of these came as the score was close in second set)...

    2 words: MOVE ON :rolll:

I'm predicting that Russia will reach the finals with the way they are playing right now.

Could this be Sokolova, Estes and Gamova's last Olympics? I doubt for Gamova..She'll be back in 2016 that for sure
