i think Russia has better chance against Brasil..İf Korea beat Brasil then Russia can as well.But its a different ball game in the quarterfinals. A lot are at stake.

I have some questions, volleyball fans:
The quarterfinals have been set like these:
13:00 Quarterfinal #2 - JAPAN vs CHINA
15:00 Quarterfinal #1 - RUSSIA vs BRAZIL
19:00 Quarterfinal #4 - USA vs DR
21:00 Quarterfinal #3 - ITALY vs KOREAWhile the semifinals:
15:00 Semifinal #2
19:30 Semifinal #1My question is, which teams are going to play in the semifinal #1? Is it from the bracket of Japan-China-Russia-Brazil? and semifinal #2 from the USA-DR-Italy-Korea bracket?

Russia vs Brazil --> I really think that Brazil's game is peaking and has a chance to defeat Russia. The Russians start every match very sluggish and Brazil can capitalize on that. However, Sokolova's old form is slowly coming back plus Gamova and Goncharova as scorers...Its going to be an awesome match! Couldn't wait for sure. (My prediction: 3-1 Russia)
China vs Japan --> China has the upper hand but Japan has always played amazing in very important matches. Battle for Asian supremacy and a trip to the semis. (My prediction: 3-2 China)
USA vs DR --> USA has always been dominant vs DR but they should not be too complacent as Dela Cruz and even Castillo can spark any Dominican onslaught. Hoping though that Hugh rests Berg and have Thompson play instead. GO USA! (My prediction: 3-1 USA)
Italy vs Korea --> Again, Italy is the clear favorite but Korea's aint a pushover. Leo's health could also be an issue, Rondon is a good setter but a team like Korea could pose a serious threat to Italy's chances of entering the semis most especially if KYK plays superwoman on the match so Leo will be very significant in the match. (My prediction: 3-1 Italy)

usa is in the way of the italians again. But at least, they can reach semi final this time.
Both main setters are injured as of the moment. Get well soon, Lindsey and Leo!
Anyway, I have complete confidence with Thompson as the starting setter. I think the US can go up and win vs Dominican Republic with her as the starting setter then just let Berg rest to prepare for the semis.

And there's the effects of Goncharova being goofy-footed. Her attacks most of the time are spectacular if she gets the right approach. But if its an out-of-system set, her effectiveness decreases so much.

I'm pissed reading all of the Turkish fans' speculation about game fixing between Korea and China.
Can't we just give credit where credit is due? Korea and China beat Turkey fair and square. Whether Turkey qualifies or not for the quarters, Korea and China and even Brazil will reach the next stage by their own merit and not because of some game fixing allegations.

Goncharova is the serving target for the Italians but so far she has responded pretty well. Who I worry about is Sokolova. Her game has drastically changed, for worse of course.
