Can't wait for Italy vs Russia. Battle for supremacy in Pool A.

But most importantly, I am excited to know who gets to advance in the quarterfinals from Pool B.

USA's servers will definitely target Neriman today. Really hoping for a quick match so that the US can prepare for the quarterfinals.

    Go USA!

    Tomorrow's games:

    Korea vs China
    Turkey vs USA
    Serbia vs Brazil

In my opinion, China will beat Korea by either 3-0 or 3-1, USA will beat Turkey 3-0 or 3-1 and Brazil will also beat Serbia 3-0. So the final standings will be like this:

    1). USA with 15 points
    2). China with 10 points
    3). Brazil with 7 points
    4). Korea with 7 points

I'm not sure who has the more superior point ratio between Brazil and Korea but tomorrow's games will be very significant. Either way, Russia or Italy will face Brazil in the quarters. Thats just too earl. And I am very sure Brazil will play all-out.

Motta realy bad coach  He just watching match he do nothing
But i believe turkey will win 3-1 against usa
    good luck turkey =/

It will be exciting to watch Turkey playing to win against USA. They definetly have potential and i believe they will.

And hopefully China and Korea will not set match to 3-2 which is enough for both teams to qualify.

Turkey needs to play flawless in order to win against USA. I don't see them beating USA, I may be wrong, but that's how I think it will be.

I totally agree with all you write. Kim was definitely not showing her best game, especially in reception, so today it was time for the others to show that Korea is more than Kim and they did it.

And about Brazil, it confirms what I wrote during Turkey match. Most of them are not willing to work hard for success because they are too used to it. They have this attitude "we are Brazil, we are the best in the world" (their men team is even worse in this), so they are used to opponents who lose almost just out of respect, and as soon as there is more resistence than they expect, they get annoyed, but instead of playing better they play even worse and just seem to wait until the opponent finally stops the impertinence of not giving up. It's not like Brazil cannot play better, they simply don't want to, they just want to play well when the match is easy anyway and everything is flowers and sunshine. Turkey had too many problems with their own nerves to beat Brazil eventually, but Korea gave them a real bad blow today. The next match will tell a lot about the character of Brazilian players, but right now, I can see no way how they beat China...

Thats the biggest difference of USA and Brazil right now. USA, despite being ranked as the #1 in the world right now, I can't see any complacency on their part. They work as a team.

Its a pity Brazil has these problems.

Brazil is in serious danger not only of losing this game but in the crossover quarters. If China beats them, they'll probably be 3rd or 4th.... :what:

I agree with the above poster, USA plays as a team. They compliment each other. Its just a very good mix of veterans and newcomers. What a win by USA!

this is the biggest problem of china, they crack under pressure.

incredible offensive showing from hodge. horrible receiving though.

    Horrible? Really?

She had some shanks but majority of the match she received pretty well.

Ebata and Saori abusing Lo Bianco's block. Lucia Bosetti has such an impressive armswing. I wish she was a couple of inches taller, she would be fantastic!

Japan is just fun to watch. From defense to offense, they are just unbelievable. Not too tall as a team but definitely can compete against the best teams in the world.

Italy's defense is superb. Croce is lucky because Costa, L. Bosetti and Del Core are stepping up in defense.. I can see Italy getting through to the semis.

Congrats Team USA!!! What a team effort. I'm just happy that Larson and Tom are doing very well for the team. Destinee's game is peaking and that should be good news. I'm sad though that Berg cannot utilize Akinradewo and Harmotto more on offense even though reception is topnotch. Brazil, on the other hand, is in danger. Seriously, this is a veteran-laden team...they are expected to do well having to compete in London with majority of those who have competed (and earned the gold) in Beijing. My observation, their OHs (Jacque and Paula) lack the firepower to put Brazil on top... Garay is the answer but she's not the best passer out there...Hope ZRG finds a way.

    RE: Italy vs Japan

    Nice hair, Del Core!

    Re: Jacqueline

She's a good passer, defender but a decent attacker. I don't think Brazil will medal in this Olympic Games with her as a starting OH. I could be wrong...

Tomorow we have 6 very interesting games. It's difficult to predict all the results. Even Algieria-Great Britain can be interesting.

Especially I wait for JPN-ITA match. IMO Italy and Japan are the most underestimated teams. I think that these teams will perform in OG beter then most of us expect:!:

Japan, yes I agree that they are an underestimated team. However Italy is expected to do well in this Olympic Games as they are the reigning World Cup champions returning most of its veterans.

    Currently watching Brazil vs Tunisia.

I don't know if they are just playing decent because of the opposition but Brazil doesn't look good.

Ricardo should be setting over Bruno. He is still the best Brazilian setter for me. Ricardo setting Dante in the back row reminds me a lot of Athens 2004.

    Vissotto is playing well!
