^ ^ ^ i think USA's offense is still too slow to say that it plays like the asian teams. in fact, i think italy and brazil's offense are much faster. brazil's sets to the outside and really fast. jacqueline often does not hit too well when the ball is set too high.

i'm really confident about my dream team:
and the countries where the people come from are varied.

Setters: Lo Bianco (ITA), Feng Kun (CHN)

Outside Hitters: Sheilla (BRA), Piccinini (ITA), Ruiz (CUB), Glinka (POL)

Middle Blockers: Scott-Aruda (USA), Carillo (CUB), Fabiana (BRA)

    Opposites: Gamova (RUS), Flier (NED)

    Libero: Sano (JPN)

    what do you think?

Yes, especially China. They will be very dangerous, bacause they play at home. But in my opinion China were better four years ago, and this time they won't win gold medal.

yes. reception during athens was just really on point. yang hao was spiking at high efficiecy, zhao ruirui was also really a big offensive threat, and feng kun hits as hard as any hitter from other countries plus she blocks unbelievably (8 blocks against china in the RUS-CHN final)

but i think the home court advantage could make china perform better than what we people expect.

i actually almost know none of the bands that you were mentioning.

except for some mainstream ones (e.g. black eyed peas, aerosmith, goo goo dolls, amy winehouse)

i absolutely adore amy winehouse's music. yes, it's mainstream but it just sounds so great.

i generally listen to indie, folk, rock, and pop. i'm not the biggest fan of r&b.

as far as non-english music goes: i like the sound of the music from latin america; the upbeat songs sound so electric while the slow ones sound so sensual.

ok. i'll expand my music horizon. could you suggest to me any good rock bands (indie/punk) that are non-english?

i would also change one thing:

    sokolova > glinka.

    especially in reception.

but i agree that polish MBs are way way way way better than the russians. considering how tall merkulova and the other MBs of russia, it's almost funny why they can't block well. i get it, they're slower but even if they just raise there hands, it's good enough as a block.

that's what i like about team italy. it's not the individual skills of the players that wins there matches. but they're teamwork and tactics.

:olympia: i'll use the olympic smiley too, just for the heck of using it.

also, i feel sorry for anzanello and del core. both of them worked so hard for the team and now they would not be included in the lineup.

i haven't seen centoni play in A international competitions; the last time i saw her is with Cannes and in Abu Dhabi.
