Metcalf will not arrive in Perugia.....Annamaria Quaranta is an OH/Opp with excellent reception skills....and Sanja Popovic will probably play as OH cuz in future she will play in that position also in Croatian NT (with Barun Opp).So Perugia will be like this: Weiss - Fateeva, Leggeri - ???, Quaranta - Popovic, Arcangeli.

Anja is playing for University-Technolog (Belgorod).
Last season Belgorod team had some ups and some downs. They started season with confidence and won the Russian Cup after beating Dynamo Moscow in the final. As Cup winner University qualified to play in 2009 Champions League. They finished the first half of the Superleague on the first place with only 2 losses. Then they just fell apart and lost 8 times in the second half. Belgorod barely made into the playoff and lost in the first round to Uralochka. After the season Debby Stam and Kim Glass left the team.
This year Belgorod will play for the first time in the CEV Champions League. In the effort to strengthen the team the management brought in several good players. Anja is among the most valued addition to the team.
So far Anja is playing great. She shares with Kulikova and Starodubova (libero) the serve receiving responsiblities. It the first round she scored 16 points and was elected Belgorod's MVP. In the second round she scored her team's best 19 points. The third round game against Dynamo Moscow was not the best game for her. But whole team played poorly this game.
