    1) Why are we not the hosts to the qualificaiton - better hall, filled with 15000 for the matches, top 6 team in the world

Maybe Because your federation decided to host the women's tournament. apparently each country can host only one tournament.

In the first post you wrote about Bojan Janic being transferred to Iran. In the Chinese League he's also listed and I saw some stats of his game yesterday. I guess he ended up playing in China or is there more to the story? Are teams allowed to have only one foreigner?

Janic never played for Urmia, They claimed it's a done deal and he was in their official roster but apparently it wasn't true. they never said any details and it seems nobody even cares to ask.

they can sign with 3 foreigners ( 2 on court and 1 on bench)

    Standings after Round 4

    2. Barij Essence 9 (3-1)

    9. Urmia 4 (1-3)
    10. Novin Keshavarz 3 (1-3)
    11. Zahedan 3 (1-3)
    12. Aluminium 2 (0-4)

This is probably the most tense volleyball league in the world :aww: we had some big problems in past 2-3 seasons, this year they changed the format to avoid it. top 8 will advance to the playoff round and after the QF, the rest of the competition will be held on neutral venue !

I don't thinks this team with Edgar, Zingel and Roberts can be considered as a B team ! they were missing some players but it was still their A team with Uriarte as head coach. actually they had 6 players from their Olympic squad (mostly key players)

If forgott to ask: I would apprciate any link to rewatch Iranian match. Fifth set would be enough :wavy:

Two questions to the knowledgeable ones. What happened to Iran's regular opposite, Amir Ghafour? He started the tournament and has been out of the 12-men roster ever since. Also, how serious is Mousavi's injury?

Ghafour got injured (ankle) in the first match, nothing serious like Mousavi, they both have to rest for 2 weeks

;( We could take Brazil to the 5th set for the 1st time, with a 20-18 lead and the ball and momentum in our side, Ghafour's mistakes were costly

This was a good game still for Iran against probably the best team of the tournament

Complete list of foreign players in Iran League this season

    Aluminium: Ivan Borovnjak (Serbia)
    Barij Essence: Ivan Stanev (Bulgaria)
    Javaheri: Aleksandar Simeonov (Bulgaria)
    Paykan: -
    Saipa: -
Sh. Urmia: Vlado Petkovic (Serbia), Bojan Janic (Serbia)
Sh. Tabriz: Paulo Marcelo Ferreira (Brazil)
Sh. Zahedan: Bruno Augusto Furtado (Brazil), Romulo Batista (Brazil)
    Kaleh: -
    Matin: Nikolay Nikolov (Bulgaria)
    Mizan: Teodor Bogdanov (Bulgaria)
    Keshavarz: -

and Daniele Bagnoli (Italy) is the only foreign coach in this league

Daniele Bagnoli will coach "Matin Varamin" in 2013/2014 season.

not 100% official yet, but he even coached the team in a friendly match, apparently they will sign him today.

Kaleh will have a poor team here 8| only 10 players and 5 of them are from the U23 team only because they are in available Brazil because of World U23 Championship, since their own players are not available at the moment ! only 5 of these players (Sajjadi, Jadidi, Ebadipour, Nariman and Ghara) are in real Kaleh roster for the upcoming season

    what happened to the coach?

i watched some of the JPN x IRN match, then i came in the middle of the CHN x KOR match, what happened to the coach? i heard the commentator say something about him going to the hospital, i thought it was a player at first.

He was about to protest to one of linesman's decisions, he moved a little fast for his age and something happened for his foot. then he was on the ground almost crying ! he spent 10-20 minutes on the bench during the 2nd set then they sent him to the hospital after the 2nd set.

he is on a wheelchair now watching the bronze medal match !

Iran and Korea in final, winning the semifinal was importatant for Iran also for staying in World League Pool A/B position, even though they have to win the gold to be sure about that because even with silver medal Tunisia will surpass Iran in the world ranking. (Tunisia most probably won't be in next WL but still) France will play in Pool C next year.

PS: Korean head coach (who coached Iran NT for 4 years) got seriously injured during the semifinal match in 2nd set :D they even sent him to the hospital.
