    Boys' Youth World Championship Drawing of Lots held in Buenos Aires

    Buenos Aires, Argenina, June 7, 2011 – Hosts Argentina will take on USA in Pool A of the 2011 FIVB Boys’ Youth World Championships while defending champions Serbia will meet the team they defeated in the final of the 2009 edition, Iran in Pool D after the Drawing of Lots was completed in Buenos Aires on Monday.


    The tournament will take place in the South American country from August 19 to 28 with a total of 16 teams competing.


    FIVB Board of Administration member Dr Rafael Lloreda Currea of Colombia was in charge of the proceedings which took place in front of a number of high profile personalities and members of the media.


    World No.1 Argentina and USA will be joined in Pool A by Egypt and Bulgaria. Pool B comprises of world No.2 Russia, Tunisia, China and Greece while Pool C will see Cuba take on Brazil, Korea and France. Puerto Rico and Spain complete Pool D.


    Pools A and C will be played at the City Hall Almitante Brown Sport Centre while Pools B and D will participate at Osvaldo Casanovas Stadium in the city of Bahía Blanca.

    Buenos Aires, Argenina - June 5, 2011 - With the presence of the Buenos Aires Province Federated Sport Under Sport Secretary, the Director of Buenos Aires province House, Rodolfo Valenta; the Delegated of the International Volleyball Federation, Rafael Lloreda Currea, the President of the Argentine Volleyball Federation, Alejandro Bolgeri, the Under Secretary of Sports of Almirante Brown City Hall, Germán Bonnemezón; the President of Coprotur of Bahia Blanca, Sergio Pladino, the Sport Under Secretary of Bahía Blanca, Alfredo Gonzalez and the delegator of Buenos Aires Unidos, Waldo Kantor among other celebrities of volleyball and of the province political government this Monday afternoon took place at Buenos Aires Province House in the city of Buenos Aires the drawing of lots took place for the Boys Youth World Championship that will take place in the cites of Bahia Blanca and Almirant Brown, August 18th - 28th, 2011.


    The most important television channels of our country - ESPN and TYC Sports, Clarin daily newspaper (the most important of the country), Ole Newspaper (the most important sport newspaper), and all Media including volleyball programs of each of the cities where the event will take place and national wide, covered the event that will mean for the country the fourth World Championship to be held in Argentina, the first one of the Youth category.


    The drawing of lots, held under the International Volleyball Federation was lead by the FIVB delegate, Rafael Lloreda Currea from Colombia and the four pools were settled as follows:


    Argentina, organizer and first ranked team of the FIVB World Ranking will stand first in Pool A - Seven teams ranked the first seven teams at the World Ranking were established as heads of each of the other pools. russia - second - Tunez - 8th in Pool B, Cuba - third and Brazil - 6th in Pool C and Iran - fourth and Serbia - fifth in pool D, with USA - ninth in Pool A.


    The drawing of lots where four teams outside of Europe where included in the first seed - Egypt, China, Korea and Puerto Rico and the four European Teams were included in the second seed finished as follows:

    Pools A and C will play at the City Hall Almitante Brown Sport Centre while Pools B and D will participate at Osvaldo Casanovas Stadium in the city of Bahía Blanca.


    Argentina will play its first match vs. Bulgaria and the other pools will be settled by FIVB seeded pools as per Berger setting.

    Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, June 4, 2011 – Hosts and defending champions Brazil will face USA, Japan and Bulgaria in the 2011 FIVB Volleyball Men´s Junior World Championship after the drawing of lots was held in Rio de Janeiro following the 2011 FIVB Volleyball World League match between Brazil and Poland on Saturday.


    The tournament will take place from August 1 to 10.


    Pool B will see world No.1 Argentina take on Tunisia, Puerto Rico and Spain. Pool C will inclue European champions Russia as well as India, Egypt and Germany while Pool D will be composed by Iran, Serbia, Canada and Belgium.


    This will be 16th edition of the Men´s Junior World Championship. The event will return to the place of its first edition. IN 1977, the city of Rio de Janeiro hosted the competition that was won by the extinct Soviet Union. Brazil received the bronze medal. After 34 years, the championship will have the participation of 16 best junior national teams in the world.


    The Drawing of Lots was attended by Mr Phillippe Berben, vice-president of the CEV and Dr Ary Graça, president of CSV as well as a number of local ambassadors, Government officials and the media.


    The top two teams from each pool will move onto two new pools of four before the first and second ranked teams from each group move onto the semifinals.
