Can't stand the commentator's pronunciation of dutch names at NED vs KAZ match. Sluh-chess (Sloetjes), Bowsh (Buijs)? What the heck was that?
Actually these pronunciations are a lot better than normal... Not right but better

Grothues looks like her head is about to explode
Rob and Marianne Steenbergen have been on TV three times now and it's not even the end of the first set
I'd like to put it on record, before the match starts, that whatever the result, I don't like the qualification rules. At all. Massively unfair on teams in strong continents.
Ok so I'm just reading this thread now after finding a phone charger and a rather big reception and afterparty Which was really nice because having a major tournament in NL meant that everyone had all their friends and family along. The reception easily had 200 people, more than at most matches in NL
And of course the atmosphere and the level of noise in the stadium were incredible.
Although it was a disappointment not to win, people are genuinely delighted with this result. The players realise they're not (yet) on Russia's level, but as several people have noted on here, they've only had Guidetti for a few months.
And they REALLY like him, despite the fact that he works them far harder than his predecessors, because the results are obvious already and because he lets them just be normal. Case in point, last night everyone (Dutchies) went out (like properly out!) after dinner. But the other teams had to stay in the hotel, so the Russians were just sitting in their room smoking (they're non-smoking rooms and there was so much smoke you could smell it from outside, so someone will be in a lot of trouble )
Bring on the OQT!
I honestly can't tell you how happy I am to see the Dutch team playing this well, regardless of what happens in the rest of this match/tomorrow. Dutch Federation have been spending years giving the impression that they'd rather cut their heads off with chainsaws than hire the best coach... Until now.
Sheilla will cry watching this tournament. If Sloetjes keeps playing like that Sheilla will have a safe place in Vakifbank's sub zone this season...
I am *almost* ready to forgive Sloetjes for having been a Pollux player
Aelbrecht
I love her reactions, but I hope they don't really offend serbian players.
The funny thing is that if you meet her in person, she's unbelievably normal
Oh look... Stefanie Karg is spending her retirement working at a zoo in London
Because you know it's all about dat Buijs, 'bout dat Buijs, no trouble
What happened? She seemed alright in Montreux... I talked to her for about five mins afterwards but not really about the match...
Schwerin just not the same without Toyn Bois and his extended family
Final part of the warmup just started, so should be underway in about 10
That's incredible then... Northumbria weren't even in the top English division a few years ago. Obviously different players but still impressive.
Was Cannes playing a bench team? I didn't see the match but I was very surprised by the scores
Hi I'm in the Copper Box... Polonia and Northumberland are the best teams here, but there isn't a pro league. I know from having watched thte womens league a few years ago that the level has gone up quite a bit, but we still don't have a professional league here (yet) so you have to be realistic about the level. But there are so many Eastern Europeans here now that the level is only going to go up.
Apparently today is almost full but some people are sitting the early games out.
There might be... I'll try and find out...
