    It is said that left-handed spikers play better in the zone 2, and right-handed ones in the zone 4....

    it is generally so!

    but all depends on the player.
    when trained as youngsters, players develop a certain way to approach to the spike.
    right handed players who play as opposites when young, generally have a certain wide(?) angled approach to a 4 set which makes it easier for the opponent to defend.

    I'm new here, can some one kindly explain how does it works? By saying final four I thought it's top four teams playing against each other.

    Final four mentioned above was about the turkish cup.
    In the league however the federation decided to go with a new after season tournament instead of the regular play-offs to determine the champion of the league.

    so after the regular season has finished by looking at the ranks of the teams, two new groups will be made.

    After season tournament

    Group A
    1.-4.-5.-8.
    (of regular season)

    Group B
    2.-3.-6.-7.
    (of regular season)

    one leg round robin system

    first two of the groups advance to

    semi finals

    A1 vs B2
    B1 vs A2

    one game, winner moves to finals.
    the champion will be determined in a 3 games series.

    winner is the champion
    loser is the vice champion.
    the rest of the teams will be ranked according to their regular season performances.

    and the winner of the turkish cup will guarantee a spot in Cev Cup if it fails to have a spot in Cev CL.

    From the video it doesn't look like ankle but more like achilles tendon...if that's true she will be out a long time :(

    that's the word, unfortunately

    edit: it is confirmed by one of the coaches of the NT.
    he says she is under surgery right now, and the operation is done subcutaneously, which means her return might be quicker than expected.
    as far as I know, it's a good thing that they can operate right away, usually when there is too much damage, the swelling of the area may delay the operation upto a week.
    anyways we may expect her to be away for at least 4-5 months.

    I think you guys are getting annoyed fruitlessly.

    Ratings are very subjective and any further categorization thereof is of little importance and hugely personal. Furthermore it by no means mean that the over rated players are bad players. Indeed I may consider the second best player of the world as over-rated if I (again) feel that many people consider him/her the best.

    For example I think Skowronska is over-rated. She is not a top-notch opposite (I don't rate her to be among top 5-10 opposites), which I believe many people I know rate her to be.

    I may be wrong on so many levels. She may be actually be one of the best opposites, or she may be rated lower than I perceive, or the people I know commenting on her may be biased and hence my perception of her rating may be justified yet ultimately wrong.

    Is that a kind of Brazilian birthday-celebration-ritual ??? It isn't cocaine, is it ?? :rolll: :rolll: :rolll:

    ;)

    As far as we know it's a Brazilian thing. It was started by the Brazilians in the football team.
    First they (teammates) crack some eggs on the head of the birthday boy/girl and then they shower him/her with flour, to finish up the human cake.

    If Azerrail is a host of F4 why they will play in play offs ?

    I wrote it before, just read competitions regulations (especially clause 1.6)

    better yet, let me paste it.

    1.6 ALTERNATIVE COMPETITION METHOD IN CASE OF ‘NEUTRAL’ FINAL
    FOUR ORGANIZER
    • The organizer is a National Federation without any team participating in the
    competition.
    • The organizer is a National Federation with at least one participating team.
    This National Federation accepts that independently from the results of its
    team(s), they will organize the Final Four Tournament.
    In these cases the competition format must be modified as follows:
    • The organizer is determined at the latest before the Drawing of Lots for the
    League Round (June / July);
    • A new competition format will be announced at the latest at the Drawing of
    Lots.
    • Men’s competition:
    -After the League Round, the 1st – 2nd ranked as well as the four 3rd
    ranked teams with the best score qualify to the Eight-Final;
    -The remaining 3rd ranked teams and the two 4th ranked teams with
    the best score from the League Round move to CEV Volleyball Cup
    Challenge Round and the remaining 4th ranked teams are
    eliminated.
    • Women’s competition:
    -If 20 teams have registered for the League Round: After the
    League Round, the 1st – 3rd ranked of the Pools as well as the 4th
    ranked with the best score qualify to the Eight-Final. The remaining
    4th ranked teams from the League Round move to the CEV
    Volleyball Cup Challenge Round;
    -If 16 teams have registered for the League Round: The 1/8 Finals
    are skipped, the 1st - 2nd ranked teams of the Pools qualify to the
    Quarter-Finals (8 teams). The 3rd ranked teams will move to the
    CEV Volleyball Cup Challenge Round and the 4th ranked teams are
    eliminated.
    • A Drawing of Lots is performed for the Eight-Finals respectively Quarter
    Finals;
    • The winners of the Eight-Finals (Home & Away Matches) qualify to the
    Quarter-Finals;
    • The winners of the Quarter-Final Matches qualify to the Semi-Final Matches;
    • In case that 2 [TWO] teams from the same country qualify to the semi-final
    matches, they will have to play each other. A Drawing of Lots will be
    performed to fix the ‘Home’ and ‘Away’ status of the teams.

    ......
    So we're looking forward to the DOL now :) Anybody knows the rules? Is it for example possible that two teams who won their pools meet in 1/8 final or will the winners surely play against 2nd or 3rd ranked teams?

    The principles of the Drawing of Lots for the Playoffs 12 are:
    • to avoid that teams stemming from the same League Round Pool will meet
    each other again;
    • to avoid that 3 teams from the same country will enter the Final Four
    tournament;
    • as far as possible to grant advantage to the better ranked teams of the
    various League Round pools.

    I think some of you guys are forgetting that Naz is still 21 years old.
    I know she's been there for a long time for us to forget how young she is, but it doesn't change the fact that she needs some more growing up to do.
    I bet even Kun Feng or Lo Bianco had terrible games when they were 21.
    So before jumping in the bandwagon, you should watch her better games (even with not-so-good receptions) and realize how much potential she has.

    Nati :obey: :heart:

    Fenerbahce were bad, especially Naz was really out of shape today.
    But I think the real difference was made by Nati's monster of a game.
    She showed why I consider her to be the best all-rounder in the world.
    Fortunately for Fenerbahce she is getting quite old to keep producing like she did today.
    I always thought Rabita was one OH short to be the favorites against Fenerbahce.
    Today Nati played equivalent of two great OHs.

    Congratulations to Rabita fans.

    PS: some bad refereeing this match. cannot be an excuse, but was quite annoying.
